i hate to go off topic a little, but its only for a sec;)

Over here a lot of people I know seem to think Tony died during filming a scene. I have had this argument with many here, but on the web I can find nothing on the subject, plus he's still making movies... but they still seem to think he died.
Is it only over here that this rumor got out or has anyone else heard this?

yeah, wierd that....
Glad we still have him

Tony Jaa for President!

Not sure, how many on that list actually competed and won titles? I know Chuck Norris has quite a resume, I don't know about the other guys.
I would lean towards Bruce Lee, but as I said, did he ever actually compete or just train others?

Bruce Lee is .... I don't have words, only respect and admiration. Everyone else is a student or a fan.

Bruce Lee is the Daddy, no doubt about that. Simply because he became an idol and a symbol for martial arts back in the days when they were pretty unknown to western public.

MMA as we know it today is largely a brainchild of Bruce Lee. He was the first to propose multi-disciplinary training. So a wrestler with kickboxing skills is largely Lee's brainchild.

Furthermore he did A LOT of weights training. The dude was harder than a coffin nail.

That said, Bruce Lee wasn't a martial artist in the true sense of the word. He was initially trained in a form of Wing Chun and the rumour has it that he hasn't finished even half of the syllabus

I think I heard a story that while Bruce originally did train in Wing Chun style, he didn't like it due to the amount of moves and positions, this may be reflected in Jeet Kune Do, were the amount of moves are pared down and simplified.

Great martial artist no-ones mentioned, Cynthia Rothrock.

Forgot all about her, nice one McNab:thumbsup:

Bruce Lee has to be the Daddy/master but for pure show, I like Jet Li, Jackie Chan and Ong Bak.

*nerdy voice on*
actually Ong Bak is the name of the statue in the movie. The actors name is Tony Jaa.
*nerd voice off*
;)

How come Tony Jaa was great in Ong Bak, but so dull in Warrior King?

Another great name: Michelle Yeoh.
