Superbowl wins has to be one of the worst criteria to judge somebody’s individual skill by.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, I'd take Marino in his prime over Brady any day in a must-win drive effort. Brady is overrated in my book....yes, his record is great but if he was playing for the Rams or Lions he'd be cannon fodder.

There are very few QBs in the history of the NFL that can/did do it all on there own.

The Patriots kinda proved last season, even though they missed the playoffs, that they could still win without Brady.I think that it was circumstantial that they missed the playoffs with 11 wins, due to the fact that they were in the most competitive division in all of football last season. Now I'm not trying to totally diminish how good Brady is,because I think the they would have squeezed out at least one more win,but still, the team was good enough to win 11 games.

Marino in his prime was,and probably still is,the greatest pure passer that the league has ever seen.To go through his entire career without a running game, and to have everyone in the stadium know that you are going to pass on about 60-70% of your plays, and to put up the numbers that he put up year after year, says a lot.The one thing I've always noticed about Manning and Brady(and like pretty much every other QB),is that when they have to hold onto the ball and the pocket is rapidly collapsing, they usually end up making crucial mistakes.A guy like Marino had that quick release that prevented him from making stupid erratic throws and bad sacks(not saying the it never happened to him,he just did it less than others)

Adam Vinteri?

Big Ben also throw the ONLY game winning Super Bowl TD out of the group.

Tom Brady was able to get them down the field to make the field goal. It's all about consistency and Tom has been the most consistent and reliable quarterback in the league. I'm not a fan of any of these teams so it's not me being biased, I just think Brady is the best quarterback in the league.

lol

You really think Marino would be taking either of those teams to the Super Bowl just with the power of his own awesomeness?!?!?!?

I live in Indy so I am obligated to say Peyton Manning.

Not a fan, but I would say Brady. Peyton being a close second. The showdown is this week and hopefully will be a great one. Also, I was pretty impressed with the drive Phillip Rivers beat the Giants on last week. I think he's only going to get better and better.

Uh....no. That's not what I said. Reread my post and tell me where exactly I inferred that.

If the Giants would have play some D they would have won that game. Prevent Defense sucks.

True, but you still have to make the plays and he did. It seems most QB's face the prevent defense at the end of the game. Why? I have no idea. I hate prevent defense.

The fact that Matt Cassel took over for the Patriots last year, got 11 wins and had 23 TD's shows that Brady isn't so special after all. A guy that hadn't started a game since high school took over and looked damn good doing it. 2 consecutive 400 yard games. I don't think Brady even has 1.

If Peyton went down, the Colts are a 4-5 win team. He can turn beer salesmen into pro bowl receivers. Same with Brees. They are both so far superior to Brady it is unreal. Peyton's stats dominate Brady's. Brady had the one stand out year, but the Pats were running up the score on everybody. Can you imagine if the Colts kept the pedal to the metal in 2004? Peyton would have 65 TD's easy. He had 3 receivers with 1000 yards and 10 TD's each. Ridiculous.

And yes Brady has the 3 Super Bowls in his favour. But why does he get all the credit for it? If Viniteri wasn't so clutch, we'd all be talking about Brady in a whole different view. Teams win Superbowls, not players.

If you're still going to use the Super Bowl victories as an advantage over Peyton, would you say Roethlisberger is better than Marino? Trent Dilfer better than Marino? He has more Super Bowl wins. No?

^^^Dude you are gonna get lambasted by others, who will say "yeah thats all what if?" Im with you all the way. Peyton over brady everytime.

I am with ya too, but i'll take Big Ben meh what can I say I am biased.

How awesome has that Patriot running game been while Lord Brady has lorded over the league? Tom Brady is like Dan Marino, except HE WINS THE BIG GAME :thefinger

Yes, Vinitieri made a bunch of clutch FGs. That snow FG to screw over the Raiders might be the greatest FG ever converted....:dunno:

HOWEVER, given the complexity of today's defenses, the speed and power of today's players, and the shittiness of the Pats run game...Lord Brady had to guide the team just to get into a spot for Vinitieri to win the game and therfore, plus the Giselle factor, Lord Brady PWNS all in the NFL.

Sorry, scoreboard Brady.
