Which movie is gorier

An Inconvenient Truth

Get it?

I haven't seen Beyond the Darkness, but Cannibal Holocaust is a Hell Room favorite at the Fillmore. What's greater than women getting ripped open by their vaginas?

persona non grata
Braindead might be the goriest movie ever made, but that´s a comedy so i guess it doesn´t count.

Well, both movies try a realistic approach to "gore", which of course makes them mostly kinda cheap looking (remember the times and the reach of these movies unlike for example Hostel today).
I hardly remember Buio Omega (Beyond the Darkness), maybe because it was a really bad movie and it was a long time ago. Cannibal Holocaust was at least on some level fun to watch, while Buio Omega seemed completely pointless. If a movie has to show gore just for "gore's sake", it should at least be funny or delightfully stupid like "Poultrygeist - Night of the Chicken Dead".

But to answer your question: I'd say Cannibal Holocaust is "gorier". Buio Omega may show some really "brutal" and sick stuff, but Cannibal Holocaust is much more savage and the gore scenes seem more casual and interwoven with the movie. So I'd say Cannibal Holocaust is more true to the original meaning/usage of the word "gore" as a movie genre, which is probably the reason why this movie is considered a "legend of the genre". And the sometimes poorly staged scenes in Buio Omega are often not very "convincing" or even seem out of place.

With Braindead for example that's a different story, because that movie didn't want to be realistic and didn't take itself too seriously. Nonetheless (or maybe not "nonetheless" but even because of that) a great movie. :D

Cannibal Holocaust is defintely gorier. It is the single most disturbing movie i ever seen. I seen a lot.

Beyond the Darkness is a good movie, w/ some pretty shocking moments, including an autopsy and a cremation scene that chills to the bone. It is one of Joe Damato's best films,

Dead alive (aka Braindead) is the goriest movie ever, but it is also really light hearted and fun. The only movie that competes w/ it and possibly tops it is an enjoyable but stupid German film called Permutos: Lord of the Living Dead.

what the fuck you lookin at?

What? That movie isn't that bad... I've seen far worse.

Exactly. Cannibal Holocaust certainly is a quite disturbing movie, but it's not as "bad" as for example "Ginī piggu 2: chiniku no hana" (Guinea Pig 2: Flower of Flesh and Blood). The special effects of Guinea Pig 2 were that gruesome and authentic for the time (1985), that the FBI took on a homicide investigation because they thought it was a real snuff film showing the murder and dismemberment of a woman, until they found out that it was a Japanese gore movie made by Hideshi Hino and released by Unearthed Films.
Still today not easy to get an uncensored, uncut version of this movie.

Btw, Master_Gio, the movie you're talking about is called "Premutos" and it's a typical Ittenbach movie. Probably a little bit more brutal than some of his other movies, but not more brutal than for example Burning Moon which has actually been "confiscated/impounded" (I don't know how you call it, "beschlagnahmt", that means taken of the market by the government; media censorship light by the German government so to speak).

I got to the turtle part and was like....damn. :helpme:

:( That is just what I was thinking. Weird how you can see so much violence - real life stuff: bombs, beheadings, accidents - and horror films with all the scary stuff you can think of. Then someone kills an animal just for the purpose of the film, and it disturbs and upsets really badly.

It won't stop me popping the odd pigeon, or eating meat, but I'll always feel sorry for the animals that died in that film. So unfair.

Take a Hit, Spunker!
Since I've never seen either movie, I can't really give an honest answer.

I still vote for Traces of Death. I still have bad images from that film in my mind.

doesn't disturb me. I've seen turtles cut open like that in person before. They actually don't taste that bad. The possum thing, I was like :dunno: whatever.

I have however seen video that does disturb me. Videos of how livestock is treated in this country for the purpose of meat. Yea, thats some real fucked up shit! Not the slaughtering but the lives they live before are just atrocious!

You wanna see something really fucked? click the link. But don't say I didn't warn you!

Yes, fella, I'm aware. The meat I eat is NOT from supermarkets. I only buy from farmers I know (even in London - I buy from small-time farmers whose production and slaughter is carefully monitored: organic and slow-grown).

Not this kind of shit (DO watch whether or not you're easily offended, if you've see it before then you won't want to see it again):
