Which members are from Canada, Eh?!

Before you move to canada, check out the real situation there.

1. The sale tax includes PST, GST currently at 14% (was 15%)

2. The gas price is running 70 cents to 80 cents per litre, much higher than US ($ 3.50 per gallon)

3. 90% of the entire population lives within 150 miles along the 49 parallel, the US/Canadian border.

4. The price of a basket of food is at least 20% higher than US

5. There are only 5 major cities--Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. The average price of a house is over 475,000.00 (an average one)
Compared with US 180,000.00 a house

6. Over 1 million Canadians live permanently in California !

7. Around 1 million Canadians travel south to Florida and the southern states for Winter.

8. The east coast of Canada hits with 17 feet of snow in the winter

9. There is only one major highway from East to West.

10. The tax is much higher than US which is used to pay for Universal Health Care.
Are you kind of trying to say something like: 'USA owns Canada' 'USA is the best country in the whole world'? Sounds like it to me... I'm really used to this attitude...

I'm from Quebec.

CANADIANS RULE!!!!!!!!!!
I am not Canadian, but after watching South Park and Pro wrestling who would not want to be Canadian?

I live in Canada, Quebec, Montreal city. That only thing that piss me off is the law in Quebec that doesn't allow sells of product that doesn't have french on it. Because of that I can't exclusive stuff because the company doesn't want to make it bilingual. Other then that, it a pretty nice place but I would prefer to travel around the whole world.

I think Canada is a great place, but it's 88 here, and they are freezing their butts off. If they weren't frozen, there would be more responses to this thread. :jester:

Most of you know the Great White North, so I won't bother you with that again. :)

Um.... Excuse but it is 15 Celsius where I live, and that is not even close to freezing. Freezing happens in the winter, when the temperature is -30 Celsius with the wind chill factor

But I am glad you and the others are so fond of Canada

If you plan to come here don't forget that you'll have to deal with a bunch of French speaking guys like me. Scary!

I may be the last one on earth to advocate a "North American Union".

Let's work together to work a NAU, North American Union.

It is already working with Canadian and American currency at par, no military posts on both borders and well over 1 million Canadians living in California.

I think it is time to dry the ink and promote a 332 millions new Union with absolutely no trade barriers and movement of people and far more Unionized than the European Union.

Each countries can retain their head of state but form a supreme rotating President and combine the military together.
