Which game gave you the greatest feeling of achievement after beating it?

Simple question no?

I think getting 5 stars on every song on expert for Guitar Hero 2 is tops for me. That took some dedication and a lot of time. Lots of rage too.

Also, when I was a kid, beating Mike Tyson's Punch Out gave me a pretty good feeling and bragging rights around the school yard.

Last one is beating Time Crisis ll for the arcade when I was on vacation in Florida about 10 years ago. I saved a lot of money for that vacation and I spent most of it on that arcade game. :(

What are yours??

Metal Gear solid4 Guns of the patriots. Why? Its kinda strange.....maybe because I watched every second of the cutscenes and it was such an epic game. Alot of people I know skipped alot of the scenes after 5 minutes and got done faster but I think that takes away from the true experience. I didnt mind sitting there through the very long ones,I was intrigued by the story.

Also Dead Rising because the save system simply sucked.....and one more, final fantasy 7 cause it was such a long and involved game.

i am going to say Knights of the Old Republic because it was the 1st RPG i ever played and spent the time really paying attention to level ups and stuff.
and that was after having the Original Xbox pretty much the day it came out...take a shit on me. i hated the system for doing that to me. but a bunch of months later i bought the system again because of KoToR being release and i stuck with it even though i was clueless to RPG games.
i stopped playing fallout 3 for about 2 months due to frustration so actually sticking with Kotor and not getting flustered was a pretty good feeling,if you consider i then knew the mindset needed for RPG's and years later still wanted to punt fallout3 and my 360 out my window!

Recently Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Assassin's Creed II because I actually completed 100% of the games by finding everything and getting all of the achievements. However the game that I'm most proud of is Final Fantasy VII because it literally took me two years to complete it by finding everything and leveling up. I finished it on June 24, 1999, the day of my high school graduation.

I thought I was the only one that got pissed by fallout3. Fuckin' trekking all over without saving, dying and losing your progress happened too often to me. Traded it in after 4 hrs into the game. Good game and concept but was too easy to make progress in a sitting and lose everything.

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
Metal Gear solid4 Guns of the patriots.

I had the same thing, except it was for Snake Eater. That ending rocked my socks off.

I probably felt the most achieved after beating Final Fantasy VIII. I played the game up until the end of the first disc, and my game was so messed up because I didn't know how to use magic to make my characters stronger (I barely could scrape by the enemies in the Ragnarok. I'd have to beat one then save my game and heal and then do it again). I played it again the right way and it was great. Best love story in video games.

I dont believe ANYONE who say they beat MIKE TYSON Punchout. That game CANNOT be beaten. I called out a guy on here who said they beat it before,he went and post some vid on youtube with Little Mac beating Mike Tyson in the first round and not getting hit once.:1orglaugh:rofl:
Please,it cant be done, all those youtube vids are fakes with codes attached to it,certain NES gams were unbeatable, like Tag Team Wrestling, that game cant be beaten also.
Anyhow I felt good beating Ninja Gaiden, the FIRST one on the NES. That game was hardcore.

what the fuck you lookin at?
As others have said Final Fantasy VII. Great fucking game! Long and involved. I was glad when I beat it but a little sad since it was over. I actually felt as though I'd accomplished something. I hope this will be the case with FFXIII.

Final Fantasy 7 because it actually was a game I played over a few times. Also though its so memorable because on my frist play through I missed knights of the round summoning materia and barrier materia in rocket town even yet still managed to beat sephiroth.....Took over a hour right enough lol.

Super Mario 64
and Goldeneye.

took loads of time and frustration. but eventually i got both, 100%. and im damn proud of it

While I could never beat Tyson,I shit on your claim that it can't be done, due to the fact that I physically watched a friend do it years ago.I was totally dumbfounded and pretty much called him a liar to his face when he first said that he could do it.He shut me the fuck up real quick when I sat there with him and actually watched it happen.

I know that it's hard to believe, but I've personally seen it done,so I don't doubt it as much anymore. Now anyone who says that they beat Gauntlet,or Gauntlet 2 in the arcade, then that's some shit I just can't fall for.I've seen kids dump 10 bucks into that machine, lose it all, then have someone else put another $5 in to continue, only to inevitably run out of money after playing for a couple of hours and not know how long until they get to the end.

Anyway, back to the question.I would have to say Final Fantasy VIII and X(there is a really awesome reveal at the end that I just didn't see coming, that was really great),Xenogears(awesome story and one of the best RPGs ever),and Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons Of Liberty( the story is probably one of the best in video game history because in one of the final scenes, there is a lot of dialog and when it's all said and done, you realize that the antagonist are justified in what they are doing, and might not be as bad as you think that they were).

My Penis Is Dancing!
BioShock was simply a lot of fun for me, from beginning to end.
I really liked the way I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - took me a couple of stutter steps, but once I got the hang of it, I built a great character.
And all three of the Thief games - on hard. In the first two, I managed to perfectly ghost them, meaning no knock outs, no kills, and not a trace of what I did was ever found.

I know people who skip through every scene of a game and I think.... what are you doing!? You are missing out on the game!!! As if the story is as important as the game itself! Which it is! I mean, people who read books, they do not read the first two or so chapters and then skip to the end, do they???

People do not watch the first twenty minutes of a film and then watch the last twenty minutes of the film to realize it all, do they?!?!?!?!

Same goes for a game! You play through the whole thing, listen, pay attention to a story line to understand the game. Yes?

Anyhoo, I felt achievement when I unlocked the video in Dead or Alive Ultimate. That meant I had to go through a lot. Timed, easy to hardcore levels, and given that game... that is no easy feat for some characters. Oh, and Splinter Cell 1 was a hard game.

As is Forza...

Special Operations FOX-HOUND
For me, it was when I beat FF VII(God, I love that game), RE1(So many memories), Crash Bandicoot & last, but not the least Metal Gear Solid 1(My favourite game of all time)

i only got pissed because i was not very high on the level ups and ran into a group called "the family" way before you actually do their part of the game.
it was like 5 scavengers who holed up in a train tunnel.
i tried like 20,30 times to kill them...sneak,sniper each head, throw grenades,
i couldnt beat them, took like 2 months off like i said, then went back with a clear head and figured i would set the 3 mines i had in random places,i sneaked up, snipered one dead and ran, the rest followed and either died from the mines or were really injured from the blast of the mines and i finished them off, then went on to become addicted to the game for the next 3 months!

beating Tyson was just like beating everyone else in the game, learn their moves and counter at the right time.
i think tyson you had to dodge him for 7/8 of the whole 1st round and you get like 2 spots to hit him,if you get the full stars for you "GIANT UPPERCUT"
you could beat him in rd.1
but if not you need to dodge his jabs half of rd.2 before being able to get some punches in.
i watched my friend do it several times he even did play-by-play to me while playing the game to show me what to look for and how to beat the game.
so sorry mastagambit its possible.super lucky? you do it in the 1st rd
lucky you can beat him in the 2nd, i think he starts getting tired in the 3rd because you know Tyson had "no stamina" after 2 rounds.
and you just do what your trainer says "stick & move" and yo beat Mike in the 3rd round.
