Which country(or region) has the most appealing history to you?

Personally, I have always enjoyed Russian history as it contains some of the most notable and unique historical figures that I can think of. Being as indecisive as I am, however, it his really hard for me to ignore the history of all peoples and regions on this planet. If I had to pick one though, I guess Ancient Roman history would get my vote, followed closely by Russian history.

I enjoy egyptian and mesopotamian history

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
Russian and Canadian history.

I never believe any "official" versions of history. There are always three sides to every story, the winner's, the loser's and the truth. There is always an alternative version of what happened that can be researched.

Now that my rant is over, let me answer the question at hand. I have always had a fascination with Germanic history. I also love the history of the "New World". Which by the way, contrary to the Euro centric bias of most people, pre-dates 1492 by a long, long time. How can someone "discover" a land with hundreds of thousands inhabitants already there? There is evidence of limited African-South American trade at least a hundred years before Columbus. Never mind the Vikings and the fact that there where people living in South America far to early for the Bering land bridge to be the only way that people populated the the western hemisphere.
