Where are you fishing this summer ? What are you catching ?

Whats a brim?

I have no boat, so its just shore fishing and wading for me on local rivers. been catching Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, 12-15 inchers regularly. The largest was a 19.5 in Smallmouth. Have caught needle-nose gar, catfish (a really nice one, 12lbs +) some sucker fish, rock bass, and an occassional bluegill.

Yeah about that size anything bigger I throw back more fat than anything on them over 15lbs the trout out there is great too.I also like the buffalo fish but they have so many bones

yeah, the Buffalo fish put up a good fight, but i throw them back for the same reason!

i asked what a brim was?!
never heard that term before. . . have also heard the term roughfish, which covers lots of species. i have caught carp, suckers, buffallo, but not sure what a brim, sheephead, or drum fish is. . . off to google i go!

A brim is a small fish about the size of a carp very popular fish in the Mississippi-Tennessee area and very good it is a fresh water fish:thumbsup:

Lake Jocassee -- rainbows
Lake Murray -- largemouth
Santee Cooper reservoirs -- stripers
hopefully soon I'll be in the Atlantic fishing for markarel

Unfortunately I don't have a vehicle capable of towing a boat around anymore, and even if I did all the places around here are either polluted, owned by people that won't let me on, or not very good to fish at. Fishing has also gotten expensive to do. Hunting has always been that way since I've been alive but now society and the government have turned even fishing into something from where you could previously actually save money and feed yourself into something that is nothing more than an expensive recreation.

It just isn't something that is worth it for me. Even if I could afford it, most of the fun and utility has been taken out of it for me.

These are really something, holly ! Did your assistants strap you and your angling rod down in one of those "special" chairs ?

kinky fisherwoman you !!!! :D

Those are so cool to watch at mealtime in an aquarium ! (scissor jaws)

the gar put up an awesome fight, but they are really slimey! sometimes they just get tangled up in your line without enen getting a hook in! That's how my dad caught one before, over 3 feet long.

Northern are great, but not that many around here. hopefully i will plan a trip to Canada for that one soon! I hear the Bass fishing up there is great too!

25 miles out in the Atlantic (of the SC coast) next weekend for mackerel, dolphin, and barracuda.
