When has it been hardest to support your team?

For me it has to be right now, this is one of the worst starts i have ever seen. I mean just look at this
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/table/default.stm

Key: P=Games played, W=win, D=Draw, L=loss, F=Goals scored, A=Goals conceded, GD=Goals Difference, PTS=Points.

Also for those of you who don't know about football. It is 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. No points for a loss.

If you look at the link i posted you will be able to see what i mean.. Today we were losing 3-0 at half time and i swear i was almost in tears. It is so hard to see the team that i love playing this badly.

I will always support Celtic and i always have done but it is so hard to watch just now. We have lost 3 games in 11 and we only lost 4 in about 33 last season. As it says in the link we are third in the table but we should be a team at the top of the table or at least a close second for just now. I honestly think that we will have lost the league by christmas. I can't remember a 10 point gap being made up before. I love celtic more than anything and i would love to win the league this season but i just can't see it happening

So when has it been hardest to suport your favourite team?

It's been quite challenging these last 15 years rooting for the Winnipeg Jets. ;)

Know when it is hard to support your team?

When they haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1967.
Have not made playoffs since 2004.
They continue to sell tickets/merchandise, so they have not made any changes. Even with coaching/player changes, the franchise runs in exactly the same way. They don't care one bit about the fans, they don't care about the league, they just don't fucking care. It is painfully obvious that the only thing the team, coaches, managers and owners care about is making a buck. So long as they continue to do that, there will be no changes in Toronto. And fuck the fans.

That's hard to support. So I don't. Not anymore.

I will never leave the club as a supporter. Rain or shine i will be there. There is a song and some of the lyrics go:
"We don't care if you win, lose or draw"

Or
"Over and over we will follow you...

...We are celtic supporters faithful through and through, over and over we will follow you"

It doesn't matter how badly they do, i will never stop supporting them.

"I'm Celtic till i die" I am certainly not what we call in Scotland "a glory hunter"

The reason I've stopped watching is because there is obviously no motivation on the part of the people in charge to make any changes. It's going to continue to be shite until huge, fundamental changes are made. Why the hell would I set myself up to be upset year after year? If they care so little for their fans, the fans are going to start bailing on the team.

And that would be the best thing for the team ever. If no fans showed up, they'd have to make changes, wouldn't they?

When watching the match today i saw that exact thing. The players looked like they couldn't be bothered, they were second best in everything, and we are one of the two best teams in Scotland. Last year the same players would have run through a brick wall for the manager. But now there is no passion, no drive to succeed. They just looked like they were fed up and didn't want to play anymore, like 5 year olds. It was sickening to see. The might as well, just not have turned up. None of the players wanted to win. In a way they all looked depressed in a way. No one wanted to run about, they were just walking, no one wanted to make tackles etc etc

Yup. Watch that for more than a decade. You'll need a break, too.

I see your point. When watchig it today though, i wasn't surprised, we have been atrocious this year. I just wish it was August 2012 just now, so we could start again. I can't wait until this season is over so we can try and win next year. This will be our 4th year in a row having lost the league.

2001-2002 UNC Tar Heels basketball. 8-20 record that year. A perennial power most years.

I am a Miami Dolphins fan also. Need I say more.

Now. Södertälje Sport Klubb sucks.

The Redwings have been good my entire life.
The Lakers are the Lakers.
The 49ers haven't been Shit long enough for me to lose hope. Plus I've seen them win a Super Bowl.
It's hard to be a Jays fan because the whole system in MLB is fucked.

With the Reds, the Marge Schott years. Yes, they did win the World Series in 1990...but at the same time, she did things to the team that ended up ruining them in the long run (like getting rid of scouts because "all they do is watch games"). All in all, she set the club back by almost a decade. And this is without even going into her remarkably narrow-minded racial views.

On the football side, the last 20 years of the Bengals. Mike Brown. It is amazing that a pure sports genius like Paul Brown gave birth to an utter moron like Mike Brown. It is even worse that he will absolutely not give up his grip on the team - and still insists on being General Manager, as well. It is said that, once he is gone, his daughter will take over. Let us hope she listened to her gramps, or that the moron gene skips a generation.

Big Time Chicago Fan:

- Hard to support the Cubs the last few years but not really a big baseball fan so whatever for me.

- For the Bears, its been hard aside from a few good years. So far this year, its bad. We have the worst gm and owners in the league no doubt.

- Bulls & Hawks have been fun to watch however the last few years. Hawks won the cup in 10 and the Bulls got 60 wins last year with Rose becoming the youngest MVP...

Yeah, it's been a rough 103 years to be a Cubs fan. Purdue's basketball team also hasn't been to the Final Four since 1980. They have won plenty of Big Ten titles though (the most in the conference if you're scoring at home). I've seen the Colts win a Super Bowl, the Hawks win a Stanley Cup, and I've seen my Boilermakers play at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. I guess I can't really complain.

If the Cubs won the World Series, I could handle all of my other teams sucking donkey ass for the rest of my life. That's how much I want to see that.

I am a Blue Jays, Raptors, Canucks, and Dolphins fan. Quite frankly I'm amazed I haven't commited suicide yet.

Well, let's see, the last time they won a Super Bowl was 6 or 7 years before I was born. The last time they played in a Super Bowl I was too preoccupied with Transformers and G.I. Joes to know football existed. The last time they had a decent quarterback I was in high school. They've had, like, one good season, 5 mediocre seasons, and 4 totally shitty seasons, including an embarrassing 1-15 season, in the past decade. The coach for the past 4 years has a mediocre, settle-for-a-field-goal mentality, and they just renewed his contract because he found out they were looking for someone to replace him. The team is 0-4, and they probably won't be winning any games anytime soon because they have a third rate quarterback, a has-been for a running back, and a schizo for a wide receiver. It sucks being a Dolphins fan. :anonymous

Given that I am actually a Pittsburgh Pirates fan.....the answer is easy. When you haven't made the playoffs, much less had a winning season since 1992.....every season is hard to support my team. Especially when the last time they DID have a winning season, they blew a game 7 of the NLCS and a trip to the World Series....in the bottom of the 9th!

On the flip side though, things do seem to be looking up for them, and they do genuinely seem to have a pretty good core group of young talent.....even though after the All-Star break this year, the season REALLY did go down the crapper......BUT, I have been, and I always will be a Pittsburgh Pirates fan.....and a fan of no other team in baseball. Their streak of bad seasons has lessened my interest in baseball perhaps....but I haven't and won't jump on the bandwagon of another.....like I said, I'll always be a fan of the Pirates....and that's that. Sometimes all you can do is keep the faith.....and that's what I've been doing, and will continue to do.

Right there with you buddy.I've only seen them in one Superbowl, and they got thumped by the fucking 49ers that year.Been waiting for them to get back since.

Honestly,I just don't know how the Chicago Cubs still even have fans. They must truly be gluttons for punishment.
