Whats your favorite scary movie?

L3ggy

Special Operations FOX-HOUND
Too many great scary movies to just pick one.

I don't find any films scary as such, although some (very few) can make me jump.

I find certain horrors more disturbing than scary. For example torture scenes and the like.

That's what most modern horrors go for nowadays - gore rather than the psychological scare.

If I had to pick one, the one that stands out that did kind of freak me out was The Blair Witch Project. I know, lame and embarrassing, but something in that film unnerved me.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
I've never been scared by a movie that was supposed to be scary. The only time I get scared is when I watch a movie that is realistic, which has real-life terrifying drama going on. IE - rape, murder, war, etc. I usually find myself picturing myself and my loved ones in that situation and then get all sad and junk. I'm a pussy, is what I'm trying to say.

But, "scary" movies are sometimes enjoyable and my personal favorite is Critters. Sooooo awesomely bad.

Candyman 1 and 2

PlasmaTwa2

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
The Exorcist

The Strangers was also really good. Great atmosphere in the theatre.

John Carpenter's "The Thing" always scares me into being paranoid for a day or two after I've seen it.

I'm always waiting for one of my dogs to sprout tentacles and kill me.

Just kidding, The first Nightmare on Elm Street, always a favorite.

Excellent reference. I thought that quote from scream is the perfect answer to this question. :)

Yeah.. I'm always wary of people who's heads have legs and run across the floor.

Some of the sequels were actually pretty good.

Parts of Halloween 2 are ok, and I liked parts of #4, and H20. 3 Sucked (though it really was a non-sequel), 5 and 6 are horrible, and that one where the rap guy used kung fu was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

And I wouldn't touch Rob Zombie's remake with a ten foot butcher knife.

Yeah.. I'm always wary of people who's heads have legs and run across the floor.

Sometimes they're ok- you just have to make sure of two things:

1. Their intentions
2. Your flame thrower is properly charged.
