What Would Make Me Buy A PS3

Ok so over her in the U.S. $600 for a PS3 is too steep for me and it really doesn't get me interested on it. So how about if they make porn movies in such a high definition quality that big asses like Julia Bond, Naomi or Ryan Conner would jump out of the tv screen and smack you in the face and you can squezze it with your hands and have a piece of it until you yell "I am full!" then I would by one for sure, until then I think it sucks as a system.

The PS3 is now $500 in North America, the price drop came this morning. I still say it's too high, I think they should drop it another $100. I expect a price drop of the Xbox 360 tomorrow.

I still have my good old PS2 and it serves me just fine. I'd wait until the price comes down to about $300 before I would buy a PS3. Yeah, the graphics are obviously better and there's probably some pretty cool games, but $500 is fucking ridiculous.

If I ever buy it, I will probably wait until years from now when the system is old and they are selling it really cheap to gear up for the next generation system. That way I will know what all the best games are and get them at a barging price also. Maybe by then all the bugs will be worked out of it to.

I have an Xbox and a PS2 and a Gamecube (thanks baby ;) ) and love 'em all. I want and Xbox360 and a Wii, but have no desire to get a PS3....first off, too expensive, second off, I have not seen any games (except for Resistance:Fall Of Man) that really stand out to me as being worth the purchase. The 360 has a ton of good games, and had a good bunch at launch, Microsoft actually did something right for a change. Sony dropped the ball with the PS3, it won't be the juggernaut that the PS2 was.

That's EXACTLY what I do. I wait a year or two and then I'll buy it. No use in spending a sick amount of money for something that is going to be replaced in 5 years anyway.

So $500 is a "sick amount of money", to the point you are willing to fore go 5 years worth of enjoyment so you can get it cheaper 5 years later?

Yup. Especially when I have a perfectly fine game system already. I have a PS2 that suits me perfectly fine, so there's really no need for a PS3 right now.

It's like having a perfectly good used car and buying the expensive new version of the same model just because it's available.

Yeah, it's nice to have...but not worth it to me.

theres no way id shell out that kind of cash for something thats going to be outdated in a year or 2. its not like thats going to be the ultimate system and nothings gonna be better than it. fuck it. i just got an snes. now thats fun.

if anything, ill get a wii. but not 'till that drops in price.

You guys taking the pi$$. it's $500 in the US and you're still complaining. We in Europe have to pay $850 and that is for the console without the PS2 chip.

what Would Make Me Buy A PS3
a reasonable price. :D

my mate got one though, right off the bat. I suggested they wait for a while or at least until the first price drop, but no they just had to get it, if only for the novelty factor.

This is what I have to say about a PS3:

Obviously, the biggest issue for most people is the cost. I have never seen this as such an issue, even as a college student making payments for tuition, a summer job easily covered the expenses of a PS3.

The main reason I got a PS3 was for the type of games that have been and will be released. I do not care about an Xbox Sony war, people who take sides over corporate names are idiots. Who gives a shit about commercialism competition? As long as they keep producing the games we like.

I will say this: If you're getting a PS3 solely for the technology, it is not worth it. While most games are released on 1080P and look quite amazing, if you don't like the gameplay, what good is it? If you're a halo fan, go for Xbox.

Another reason to get the PS3, is if you're an avid fan of High definition dvds and movies, there is obviously a blue ray player built in the to PS3. Where as other brands of Blue Ray players cost $1000+, you might as well get a $600 console that plays games as well as high definition movies.

Once again, I bought a PS3 for the games and for the blue ray playback. As a college student paying his own tuition, I still don't see how so many adults can complain about price IF gaming is their priority. If not, you really can't lose with one of the other 2 consoles.

i agree...

Any American that moved to Europe would die from the chock of what we pay for electronics and gas...

Same here with me, but I do got a SEGA Genesis in which I enjoy playing Castlevania Bloodlines and Gunstar Heroes. I also got A PS2, but I am leaning towards the Wii.
