What was your first ever album

All vinyl...

The first album that made me go "What the fuck!?"(In a good way)-Aerosmith-Toys In The Attic

The first album ever given to me- Van Halen

The first album I ever bought- Lynyrd Skynyrd-Street Survivors

I still have them all....

Oh Elwood, I still have all my vinyl ass well (about 5.000 records and 3000 singles and some maxi's).
Nothing can beat that sound. CD/DVD might sound perfect, but it hasn't got the soul the music should have.
Keep your records and handle them with care, that's what vinyl deserves (especially when there is rock pressed on it).
I don't know about the States, but here in Europe, vinyl is coming back. More and more recent albums come out on vinyl again, and you can buy all new turn tables all of a sudden even from the most known brands, as Pioneer, Sony and Technics. So, I think there might be a new future for the good old, a never ever forgotton vinyl.

First Cassette: "Top Gun" (maybe 1995 or so, I can't remember).
First CD: "Gladiator" (when did that come out? The year 2000?).

Yes, I am a lover of film soundtracks. They are my passion! I like regular music too, but a good film soundtrack nails the day for me. Last night I was listening to "The Dark Knight".

Vinyl is coming back here, too....but then again, it never really left.

I've always taken good care of my vinyl. Some of the covers are a little worse-for-wear; but the vinyl inside is a good as can be.

I'd look into buying a new turntable, but I'm busy trying to fix the 45 year old one I still have.

Some people collect the dust covers simply because of the cool artistics and graphics. Something that the plastic CD covers can't compare to.

Kiss - Creatures of The Night, on cassette tape.

Should do that in your guest room and cover the rooms in albums covers. I took all the hundreds of RS covers I got from my cousin and covered my walls in them. It's cool.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
I got two of them The Clash Give Em Enough Rope and The Police Ghost In The Machine.

First vinyl: Beethoven's Ninth Symphony

First cassette: something by Mecano

First CD: Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer  (in my defense, I was 8 or 9 at the time.)

First received: "Weird Al" Yankovic - "Dare to be Stupid"
First bought used: DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince - "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper" (bought for one dollar at a garage sale when I was 10...discarded it very soon after)
First bought at an actual store at age 11 (I consider this my first real purchase): Two albums: Iron Maiden - "The Number of the Beast" and Anthrax - "State of Euphoria"
(I was instantly hooked and quickly got all of their albums, which at that point were seven for Maiden - they have fifteen now, not counting live albums, compilations, etc., and four for Anthrax, now ten)
...and so entered my journey into Metal. :banger:
Funny how the good stuff never gets old. Pretty intense album art for a kid in the 80's. It kinda felt like I was buying something evil at the time, but it felt like I had pure power in my hands! It made me feel stronger, and that's something that still doesn't go away when listening to good music, especially Metal. I owe a lot to it.

An old man that lived down the hall in the hotel we were staying at when I was a kid gave me a george carline cassette tape.
