It is hard to choice....but i guess it is Return of the Jedi...Stand in line for 4 hours getting tickets and it was raining

Empire Strikes Back is very good but I prefer A New Hope as it is the oringinal and when it came out it was totally different to anything that people had ever seen before

Agree with you dirac.Although the later ones were technically better,Star wars will be the one which started it all.

While the stuff with Luke/Vader/Emperor is classic and well done, "Jedi" leaves a foul taste because of Ewoks, that horrid space battle, and George Lucas having an era where he was constantly heard muttering "I love muppets".

I agree. That final light saber battle with Luke and Daddy was very cool (imo).

To me, the second series of three is not quite there. All it really is doing is filling in the blanks. You know where everything eventually ends up. With the first series it was all new.
To me, science fiction is at it's best when the outcome isn't known.

It's the only one that is a full film of its own, with a "real" beginning and a "real" end, all the other movies are dependant to each others.

I could have also done without the Ewoks, but the Luke/Vader/Emperor showdown out weighed this for me.

A new hope was awesome and I agree with what Johan had said about standing on it's own. My favorite is empire with sith a close second. It is funny that the two darkest movies in the saga are my favorite. I didn't like sith the first time I saw it the first two movies made one like anakin even though we know what he is to become. It's a real downer when you actually see it happen. You almost feel sorry for him. Episode 3 and 5 rock.

even tho they are all part of a series, the movies are so unique that they can stand on their own merits...i agree that e4 was new and refreshing, but e5 had great plot twists...jedi was more fun, and the showdown with the emperor was great.

e1-3 suffered from two main characters whose apparent boredom was contagious...while the love story was necessary to tell the whole story of anakin's transformation, it bogged all three episodes down to a crawl.
