I liked the ending. It didn't give you the typical Hollywood cookie cutter BS. The ending was completely realistic, the good guy doesn't always get the girl. IMO that's what made the movie so special.

True, but the whole movie was supposed to be some inane teen comedy, and then WHAM! Dude gets fucked over and makes the whole thing all depressing.
