What is the scariest movie/movies you have ever seen?

Hercules In New York.

Fucking terrifying so it is. And for all the wrong reasons too.

The Shining, Two Mothers for Zachary is a close second.

Probably Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The most shocking (well more surprised and caught off guard) was Ray Liota scene in Hannibal.

Aside from Seven, I'm drawing a black. I couldn't sleep for a week after watching Seven. Texas Chainsaw was crazy. The Strangers was all right, but not crazy scary. The Saw movies just make me queezy more than they do scare me. I'd prefer not to watch Hostel, but the trailer was pretty crazy. Ills was okay.

And what was the one with the Aussie serial killer? Wolf Creek? I can't remember. Sort of more gore stuff. Shining was scary as hell as a kid and the Ring was all right as well.

Okay, will someone tell me who comes up with shit like this (I was looking for the Wolf Creek trailer and came across this tripe):

I have to say, watching that trailer sort of made me a little queezy. :eeew:

I found the movie rather funny actually.

Truth. My brother and I were laughing out loud during that movie. What a sorry excuse for a horror movie that is. Fucking terrible.

Martyrs made me feel uncomfortable. For a while I thought, "suicide probably isn't that bad." The feeling of hopelessness the director manages to create in that film is unreal. Great acting, great score and great visuals. Definitely a wow movie. Prob most impressive horror movie I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

It scared me as a kid. So did Fire In The Sky. Arachnophobia. All scary movies for me. Fuck aliens and fuck spiders.

I think Dino Velvet is not only active on this board but in the movie making business as well with a concept like that. :elaugh: Personally I don't think I could stomach it, but I felt that way about Strangers and Ills. Both were pretty meh.

My friend is terrified of that movie. I don't think it's that scary... Well, maybe the needle in the eye part.

Out of curiosity, I grabbed Fire in the Sky off of Netflix tonight and watched it. I can see how some people can think it's scary, and it really does have its moments. The scariest part for me, outside of the scenes on the UFO is kind of the same thing that makes The Exorcist such an effective movie. Everyone in the movie is hopeless and until the end you are forced to come up with your own interpretation of what happened. It's an incredibly gripping movie and a LOT better than I remember it being when I first saw it.

Are you enjoying your Netflix experience? I'm hoping all the "Not Availables" are available once my free trial is up. Otherwise I'll be canceling quick.

Everyone bitches about the not avaliable shit. I seem to be the only one who loves the movie selection. Tokyo Gore Police? Yes please!

As a grown man who's seen countless Horror Movies I don't think I'm capable of being scared by a movie anymore. But, these scared the crap out of me as a young boy.

Let's Scare Jessica To Death
The Exorcist
Jaws
Halloween (Original)
Alien

I also remember a few episodes of Night Gallery being creepy too.

The Exorcist when I was 12 and catholic....profoundly scary at the time, could not sleep for days.

Reeker - if you haven't seen this one check it out. very unusual horror film.
Splinter - maybe more bizarre than scary but really good low budget horror.

Almost forgot-
Masters Of Horror! great horror series with some true gems.
a few episodes-
Cigarette Burns by John Carpenter
Jennifer by Dario Argento
Deer Woman by John Landis (this one is more funny than scary, but it is hilarious)
