What is the latest good film you watched ?

One of the best smart ass and bad ass characters.

I'm with you on the series, I can't wait for it to come, [NOBABE]Lucy Lawless[/NOBABE] looks nice in it. I haven't seen Xena, but it's interesting she and Bruce will reunite in a new show.

Anyways, just finished seeing Bare Behind Bars. The standard for a highly graphic movie is Cannibal Holocaust. Seeing that for the first time a few weeks ago, it was a total challenge. Very disgusting and had that "lose faith in humanity" feel to it. Not just to the documentary makers, who clearly were made to be hated, but also the director painting himself as a vile filmmaker. Artistic freedom withstanding, he did a great job of shocking and sickening this viewer.

Bare Behind Bars comes pretty close to that movie. Second, I'm not sure, but I can't think of anything more graphic than this, except Cannibal Holocaust, that I've seen. Mind you, I haven't seen many horror films, it's only recent that I've gotten into them. This isn't a horror film though, Women in Prison. That's a great genre of exploitation and I've seen some gems like Reform School Girls and Naked Cage, but some stinkers like Hell Mountain. This falls in the former category, but it separates itself for being so sleazy and dirty.

Lesbian scenes? Check. Dildo penetration? Check. Flogging? Check. Water torture scenes? Check. Nudity? Full frontal and everything, classic 70s muff. It was released in 1980, but the movie's aesthetic, feel, everything screams 70s. Hardcore sex? Check. Slicing off dicks with a razor? Check. Feeding a cock to a dog? Check. Gang raping a 10-12 year old boy? Check! Black people eating watermelons...check! The movie just wowed and shocked and entertained each passing moment. The final things mentioned, happened at the end, so it just built and built to some great stuff in the end.

The nudity and sex is hot, the violence is shocking and appealing, the gross moments are just that. It's almost perfect. Almost, the ending was rather lame. The movie focused on 3 women wanting to escape the prison. It was 4, but the black girl of the group chickened out of it. With help of a horny nurse, the 3 ladies make it out. They party in a Brazilian parade (filmed in that country by the way), resort to stealing afterwards. That's where the dick slicing, murder, and gang raping a boy happened. Seriously with the latter, they undressed the boy, two of them kiss and lick his nipples, and the one who loved her razor, was sucking the boy's cock. Thankfully they didn't show that bit in explicit detail, implied and all, what else did it look like? It puts into perspective that the whole older woman, underage male thing isn't cool, doesn't warrant a "lucky kid," it is rather sad. So they steal some dresses, money, they go their separate ways. The razor happy girl sucked a dude off, cut his dick, and fed it to him! Hardcore, and she ended up hanging with the black people eating watermelons...

The blonde is picked up by a drunk white guy with a black maid. Yeah. She has sex with a younger, hotter looking man, and the drunkard comes and kills her. The razor bitch gets caught by policemen after singing with the black guys. The third girl stayed with her mother, but was spied on throughout that time, and got picked up. So, no happy ending, and really, none of the girls were actually good. Well, the second in command to the warden. She wanted more bath time for the prisoners, the prison to be cleaner, and even have a carnival day for the inmates, they couldn't have visitation rights. And she didn't participate in any lesbian acts, or flogging, like the warden did. The nurse was a lover, so I guess she'd qualify too, but nobody else really was good.

For 1980, that's pretty interesting, and especially in WIP films, there's always a prisoner that didn't deserve to be there, and the bitches certain inmates and the warden. This one offers something different. It's also interesting how the movie made me think of Reform School Girls and Naked Cage, when this came before those 2 movies. On the former, there's a big fat redhead prison worker, just like in RFS. The warden in both films are rather charismatic, and both come from German speaking countries ([NOBABE]Sybil Danning[/NOBABE], to note, from RFS). The film, I think was German dialogue, but dubbed in English. Thankfully the version I saw kept the German during the sex scenes, for the most part. When actual dialogue was spoken, it became English. When it's just "Ja" and moans, it's German. On Naked Cage comparisons, a whole lot of lesbianism going on.

The dubbing probably helped, particularly for the black people in the film. The maid and the watermelon eaters being dubbed with stereotypical voices. The former had the "lawdy" Southern voice, the latter had the jive talk to them. Everything else, I guess white people, the drunkard surely sounded like a trailer trash dick. I would still watch the German version, just to hear the warden in her proper, deep German accent. Hot.

The perfect movie to watch following a serious, pretentious, artsy fartsy foreign film in the form on Domino (but [NOBABE]Brigitte Nielsen[/NOBABE] was fucking hot in it). Now I can't decide between this and Reform School Girls on which is the best WIP film. The latter had a stunning ending, epic and everything. The former's ending was a major comedown from the shocking 20-30 minutes before it. The former though was just that, shocking and graphic. The latter though was hilarious, and it clearly parodied WIP films, especially the ones made by the same director who made RFS (Tom DeSimone). Both had great characters, but the latter edges out in memorability, but also the lead, [NOBABE]Linda Carol[/NOBABE], came off as a bored looking bitch at times (typical of teens I guess, she was under 18 apparently in the film). The warden in BBB is awesome, but [NOBABE]Sybil Danning[/NOBABE] man, even not showing any flesh for crying out loud.

Indecisiveness aside, Bare Behind Bars is a fantastic film.

I went to see Cartel Land documentary, the most amazing and powerful film i have ever seen.

GUNS, part of the 12 film Andy Sidaris film set, Girls, Guns, & G-Strings. I can't complain about 12 movies costing $7, and when comparing to the 4 previous films, this is a comedown. I'm wondering if it's a decade thing, the first AS film from the 90s, and things are a bit different. Regular co-star to Dona Speir, Hope Marie Carlton, isn't in this, replaced by Roberta Vasquez. She does well, and while Hope's character was a ditzy girl with sticky fingers when it comes to valued objects and blonde men, I did miss her in this movie. You don't know what you lost until you lose it. Danny Trejo looked so skinny and funny in a suit, Erik Estrada hammed it up. He clearly tried to one up other regular cast member and villain, Rodrigo Obregon, but didn't live up to the god that is Seth from Hard Ticket to Hawaii. Rodrigo appeared in this film as a woman. I'm not sure if he was meant to be a transvestite, or an actual woman, but seeing him in drag made me laugh. The benefit of this DVD set, is watching the same actors and growing on them. Dona Speir's character...Dona, I'm cool with her, Rodrigo in whatever he plays, awesome. Lisa London reprises her role from Savage Beach, but unfortunately was killed early in the flick.

The only character problems I had are the Abilenes and someone else. This family made up of government/police officers. The first one, Cody, was the best. Didn't like his narration, but he screamed 80s. The one in Hard Ticket got the funniest kills, but his personality wasn't that good. Shane in Picasso Trigger and this movie, meh. The other Abilene from Savage Beach, meh. The other black mark is this minor actor. He played bit part villain roles, and he just looked utterly bored in every single film so far. The only expression other than boredom that he made was a little smile when he blew up a car. He sucks the life out of the viewing experience. Everyone else is going for it, some are hamming it up, but this guy does nothing.

Anyways, like the two previous movies, it relies on a great second half, while the first half is slow and filled with too much dialogue and plot. The nudity here is at an all time low, and while Savage Beach didn't have lots of nudity compared to the first 2 movies, it still had the Guns and Girls. The guns are ridiculous, the explosions are ridiculous, the one liners are silly but fun, the women kick ass, most of the men suck, which is what I love seeing. I'm at a point now where I want to see more females kicking ass, and all the movies so far feature that. As well as exploiting them with nudity, it's a perfect meeting of two worlds. It's great, if you're into low budget, good bad movies, it's worth watching. Don't buy it on its own, I don't think you can anyways, Andy Sidaris' 12 Malibu Bay Films are always sold in this film set. He did two other movies before the 12 films that I have to seek out, and see how he fared in his more formative years.

Its been a Guy Pearce jag. "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" from 2010. Pretty good flick. Had some minor story holes but sound effects should have been Oscar worthy. Creeped me right the fuck out.

I watched "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" mainly for Katie Holmes, I don't usually watch horror movies, but it is a good story and very creepy.
Katie looks good but a bit skinny, the little girl gives a good performance, and so does Guy Pearce.

Irreversible. I wanted to see what nudity Monica Bellucci did, knowing full well the premise of the film. Also, I saw a top 10 list yesterday mentioning this as a movie that is too upsetting to watch twice. The standard for that, not counting Cannibal Holocaust because that's too obvious, is Requiem For A Dream. I watched it once, and never want to again, it had some horrific images. This movie had its fair share. The imagery is graphic, and even though it moves in a reverse order, the happier parts in the end doesn't alleviate the viewer from what was seen before. More obvious the final scene, or rather, opening one, where a seizure inducing white/black flashing light comes just before a brief picture of a constellation. The scenes are actually sad, because you know what happens later. So the first half is just gruesome and dark, and uncomfortable. Even the opening dialogue, or again, the closing, is an old fat man admitting that he fucked his daughter. I didn't expect that! The violence is so realistic, there's one scene that looks very similar to a certain scene in Drive, but this movie came before it. It's also more graphic than Drive, and that movie's no walk in the park. The movie's goal seemed to be to show the darkest side of humanity: incest, murder, rape, topics touched in the first half, while the second half featured drug use and sexual frustration. Things lightened up with love, and an pregnancy being revealed, which just makes the very long rape scene, that much sicker to digest.

So like Cannibal Holocaust and Requiem For A Dream, the filmmakers did its job so well, that it's a fantastic movie, despite the imagery. The acting is amazing, the guy who played Marcus, he's no angel, but he and Pierre are the only guys to root for, and you do sympathize with them. Of course there's Monica, the angel in the film, her wings were broken and her face was mashed. The guy who did the deed, jeez, he looked like Marv, Mickey Rourke's character in Sin City. The droning music is so fitting, and the movie's reverse order worked so well, and the setting too. It starts off really dark, and then even when there's light, as in the rape scene, the tunnel is a dark shade of red, and it envelops the light in the tunnel. As the scene got into rape territory, you focus on the floor of the tunnel, and not the top where the light is. So that and the red walls, it gets dark again. The only fully light parts is the train scene, featuring some funny and too open discussion on sex and getting a woman off, Marcus and Alex (Bellucci) at their house, and the close of the movie where Alex is lying on the grass in a park. The dialogue too, it starts off heavy and then there's a lot of talking in the Rectum scene, then things decline, not so much dialogue in the house, then no dialogue at all by the time Alex does a pregnancy test, and into the end of the movie.

Cutting the analysis short, and it is amazing that a first time viewing made me really think about details and how things were presented, the movie's awesome. I just don't want to see it again, any time soon at least.
