Ok, so yeah, keep in mind I'm probably the biggest fan of the book ever, I still read it at least a couple times a year, so I might sound a bit "fan-boyish" here, but...
This movie, which I started expecting severe disappointment, especially being made for TV, surprised the fuck outta me!! I was almost overwhelmingly excited watching it a mere 10 minutes in, and it just kept that excitement all 2+ hours though! WOW! So, maybe it's not the best acting in the world, but they really weren't too bad. The actor who played Entragian did a spectacular job... All the major scenes from the book are in this movie and stay faithful to the book... The characters all looked as I imagined them from reading the book, even down their personalities. The sets were great, again looked as I imagined they would... All the major dialogue from the book is still here even. Great original composition for the movie too, the score really fit the scenes nicely.
My only gripe is the movie had a slight tension lingering in the air, as opposed to the paralyzing fear the book left me feeling. I think if it weren't made for TV the evil & darkness of the book could have been portrayed better, but considering all the positive aspects this movie has going for it in my world, that's not too big of a problem.
I couldn't really see anyone who's never read the book to understand what's going on in the movie enough to enjoy it, or even someone who found the book mediocre, but if you're crazy about the book like I am, maybe you can find a pleasant surprise as well! Goddamn, I'm sleepless from my excitement now.

I watched Hamlet 2 last night and it was quite funny.

I used to watch Spaced when it was on the telly originally. Back in the 90's. I thought it was ok, I liked how they used Resident Evil 2's music in the zombie type episode they had. But after it finished on tv I never bought the video tapes or the DVD's. Not untill last year when a boxset came out of both seasons of Spaced together. I got it from HMV for £20. I thought it would be a trip down memory lane. It was. But not a nice one. The show, when I watched the DVD's, looked really amateur in it's style of humour. It felt like they were trying too hard to get a laugh from people with what they said and did in the show. I was kind of shocked as I sort of liked it when it first aired on TV and yet now my view is the complete opposite from first time round. Even in Hot Fuzz I thought the only funny bit (good bit) was where Simon Pegg drop kicked the old woman. I just don't like his style of comedy now.
Murray's cameo IS overrated. It just felt like it was supposed to be a surprise cameo role and nothing more. The way some people go on about it, it's as if there's never been a cameo in a movie by another well known star before. His presence didn't add anything new to the movie. It didn't take anything away from the movie with him being there either. Overrated indeed.

Does anyone know if Angela (Manuela Velasco) is in this second one?. I have REC and I thought she was really attractive in it as well. She is the reporter woman from the first one. I hope she is in it. If not then fucketty fuck FUCK!. I guess I will still buy it since it is a part of the REC series. But Angela needs to be in it. Even if it is in possessed form (although she wont be hot in possessed form lol) but that version of her will still be better than not having her in the movie at all.
Yep she is on Rec2... great movie btw.
