What is the latest good film you watched ?

Moonraker, arguably the worst movie in the Bond series but still very watchable. It loses a lot of crediblity with gondola that turns into a hovercraft and the laser battle at the end. James Bond should never go back into space ever again. The girl that plays Manuela is gorgeous and the most memorable part of the movie for me.

I purchased a few DVD's today no idea what some of them are like as I've not seen one or two of them yet.

I'll mark each one I've not seen with a * at the end of the title.

1. Harper's Island (complete series of 13 episodes) *.
2. Survivors (season one) (2009 remake of the 1970's classic).
3. Halloween (Rob Zombie).
4. Halloween II (Rob Zombie)*.
5. Borat.
6. Dead Set.
7. Salem's Lot (David Soul) (184 minute version).
8. Slum Dog Millionaire (Danny "28 Days Later" Boyle)*.

Just saw Zombieland and thought it was good, overrated, as many said it was as good as Shaun of the Dead, it's not, but it's still pretty good.

It's not as good as Shaun of the Dead. Nope. It's a whole lot better!.

What IS overrated is Shaun of the Dead.

Don't you....forget about me

documentary on John Hughes' film career and his lasting impact on young film makers of today. if you liked 16 Candles, Ferris Bueller, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, or Wierd Science you should watch this movie cos i think you'll connect

my teen years we had crap movies. really wish we had a john hughes when i was in high school. :(

I'm of the reverse opinion. Shaun is excellent. Zombieland was dire, unfunny, annoying characters & total lack of inventive undead action. As is typical of american movies it had to have a crappy family-centric moral.

Compared to Shaun's dry humour that is.

Shaun's problem is it tries too hard to be funny. And it's star, Simon Pegg, is not funny. His Spaced show was the exact same style of amateurish humour as Shaun of the Dead. I guess it's a movie you either love or don't love. As for Zombieland, well, Tallahassee alone is worth the entry fee. Woody Harrelson's character is pure class compared to Simon Pegg's spitfuck of a character. Normally I would choose a UK or European horror movie (or horror/comedy) over an American one due to how Hollywood does things. But Hollywood got it right this time.

Mmm, well if you're not a fan of Spaced then I guess you wouldn't like Shaun as its basically Spaced with zombies. Woody was the best thing about Zombieland, until the scene where they gave him a shitty weepy backstory, & then they simply forgot about that character beat & carried on with him wisecracking & shooting etc. Oh & Murray's cameo was SO overrated.

Just finished rewatching Sam Peckinpah's masterpiece, "The Wild Bunch", for the umpteenth time. A movie that was filmed in my native Mexico and was banned there for years for showing Mexico in an unfavorable light, though that's why I do consider it a masterpiece as it showed it the way it was during the days of the revolution, bloody and very awful, despite all the whitewash from the old history classes making the revolution sound as something idylic and heroic. Beautiful, bloody movie.

I'm watching The Road right now. The book was written by Cormac McCarthy, who was the same author who wrote No Country for Old Men. He writes in such a truthful, simple, beautiful, and melancholic way.

I preferred the book, but the movie is also really good. It is out on DVD/blue ray now, check it out!
