What is the latest good film you watched ?

Not really a film per se, but I just watched the five-part episode "Five Faces of Darkness" of the G1 Transformers cartoon.

Blade Runner (1982)

Cult futuristic sci-fi, based on the book by Phillip K Dick "Do Androids dream of electric sheep?"

Deckard, a blade runner, has to track down and terminate 4 replicants who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to earth seeking their maker.

A great movie, from a time when sci-fi movies didn't have to be just about things blowing up. They had plot & character development too!!

Like Paycheck & Screamers?!?

Blade Runner and A Scanner Darkly ... I win. :D

PKD's books are far too complex for movies anyway. Keep him in print that's what I say. Although if they ever made a Ubik, Three Stigmata or Valis movie I'd go and see them.

Although how they would make the latter two is beyond the realm of contemplation.

Well, it is based on a Philip K. Dick novel, of course it's going to have a great depth to it.

True, shame more of PKD books havent been turned into as good films as his "Do Androids dream of electric sheep", they have been poor apart from a few. And a good british director helps too!

The World's Fastest Indian (2005)

The life story of New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle -- a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967.

Like Paycheck & Screamers?!?

"Screamers" and "Paycheck" are both only based on a short story, and very, very rarely do short stories stand up to being padded into entire films. "A Scanner Darkly" and "Blade Runner" ("Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep") are both culled from full novels, and are far better for it.

True Romance (1993)

Clarence marries hooker Alabama, steals cocaine from her pimp, and tries to sell it in Hollywood, while the owners of the coke try to reclaim it.

I just watched The Uninvited last night and I must say that was a great film with a twist! You think you figured it out and in the end you sure as hell didn't!

I normally do not like horror films nowadays because most are plain jane and predictable or corny. This one was great and I recommend!
