Over the weekend I cleared a bunch of fairy tales off my DVR. Snow White and the Seven Vertically Challenged Minors from 1937 very first full-length cel animated feature film! If not for the sucess of this film there very likely would have been no Disney Studios, no theme parks, no Marvel movies, Orlando would have stayed a swamp. It cost about 1 1/2 Million and to date brought in over 418 million! I don't think I have seen this movie in over 50 years, but somehow I kind of remembered the whole story. Is it strong childhood memeories from 4 years old? Contact high walking through Fantasyland in Disneyland every few years? Or all those Fairytale porn parodies out there?
The animation held up well but one thing jumped out at me. The movie opens with four pages of text setting the story up to the "Mirror mirror" part. Which meant probably parents (1/3 of the theater) had to read it to their children who were not able to yet (1/3 of the theater
