"They Were Expendable" (1945) A pretty good movie about the early days of the US in WWII in South Pacific despite John Wayne staring in it.
"December 7th" (1943) An early propaganda movie. TCM just ran it in it's restored 82 minute length. For decades 50 minutes had been removed due to racist claims.
Also watched (a couple months ago) "Air Force" (1943) directed by Howard Hawks of interest in it was the first to use battle footage from Pearl Harbor attack very familiar in History, NGC, Military channel shows as well as "In Harm's Way", "Tora Tora Tora" & "Pearl Harbor" movies. Watch it also for the stuff they got really wrong like Japanese (American) snipers in trees shooting into the air field.
