I would request all of you to leave personalities out of the thread. Except on the context of the thread, if you have to say something, please privately communicate between you.

The 'quotes' are only examples. It is happening all over the board.

There is probably some truth to this article that both sides are to blame.

I know I saw a poll somewhere that Republicans are being blamed mostly for the problems in Congress. 6 months ago had Biden said that the Democrats would retake the house, he would have sounded like a windbag, but today it is a real possibility. With the nonsense the Republican candidates are throwing at each other and the latest polls Does Gingrich really have a shot?

Romney polls better against Obama, even though he is 6% or so behind. So, if Newt was to win it is feasible (that it would be very entertaining and...) the whole shabang goes to the Democrats.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
C;mon Jag,
The sound byte wasn't chopped, it was him lying then a flashback to him saying something very different, proving that he was lyin.
Core values? Ok, like a homosexual hooker turning tricks in his house ? doing all he can to force banks to loan money to millions of people who are gonna get foreclosed sooner or later, therefore tipping the first domino in a major recession?
A guy like that would be executed in many parts of the world.
And I don't think the Republican party is in disarray.
Why say that, because they don't have a candidate with a great line of BS and huge teeth?
I do admit I don't trust many politicians, but when it comes to the lesser of two evils I go with the republican party ......especially with this guy in office, whose only answer to everything is more tax, more spending and more regulations.......which is pretty much all I hear him say.
That plus constantly saying its all the republicans fault........to me that's just classless.

Oh, and I'm very fond of you too,.

The sound bite was choppy regardless of what it was in reference to. I do not care what he does in his private life....homosexual hookers or not. He's never been convicted of or arrested for anything so until he is the point is moot. What would happen to him in other parts of the world is also moot. You think the republican party is not in disarray....OK if you say so, buddy . Bullshit and huge teeth has to do with what??? :dunno: You go with republicans because you agree with them on a philosophical level I assume....that's fine by me. I just disagree....the republican agenda is anti-social and repressive as far as individual liberties are concerned and I just can't go for that no matter what. Trouble finding answers to our issues has been largely due to republican intransigence....they have consistently refused to meet the president even halfway on almost everything. They offer no legitimate answers to anything....all they do is bitch about Obama and the democrats. During the SOTU speech, Cantor and McConnell and the rest of their minions refused to clap at the news that GM is once again the #1 automaker in the world and repeated the behavior at every announcement of any good news whatsoever. It's very clear that they don't want America to prosper unless they get credit for it....all they care about is regaining power. Anyone who supports their position is a part of the problem from my perspective. If they can't put country before party, they and anyone who agrees with them are traitors to the American cause in my view.

I also truly am very fond of you as you know quite well my friend (no bizarre or, God forbid, gay man crush here folks ....just a friendship :D). Otherwise, your statements make little sense to me and your rants just sound like unbridled rage for the most part. I think that a lot of that rage from you and others like you comes from the slow realization that is becoming increasingly likely that Obama will handily defeat whomever the republicans nominate and you will be forced to endure four more years of his administration.

I have gone on record here as wishing there was a legitimate republican alternative to Obama since I have certainly been less than enamored with with his performance thus far. Unfortunately, instead of championing someone for whom swing voters like me could be won over by nominating a candidate who is somewhat center of right, they are going to offer up an extreme choice who is unacceptable to me and others like me and that truly is most unfortunate. It is sad that the current American political process ultimately forces us to choose between two extremes instead of a giving us a more moderate and mainstream option.

Did anyone know who the hell Saul Alinsky was before Newt started yapping about him? I guess it was only a matter of time before the right found a boogeyman. Saul Alinsky was a community organizer who organized the poor in the slums of Chicago. You know what that means, he was a radical/socialist/communist/marxist/ whatever else name you find  Oh how the righties humor me

Nice post as always. Just to focus on a couple of your points quoted. The Republicans have got to stop the bitching and get to work. Period. Take obstruction out of their playbook.

I'm glad GM is #1 again. I guess it was the right thing to do, but I do cringe a bit at the investors taking it on the chin and the unions being handed a good portion of the company. Not complaining, just cringing. It isn't a perfect world.

Probably best for a GM forum, but I've been a faithful GM owner for years and years. My last two GMs - Pontiac and Saturn both had electrical problems. What a pleasure it is that they are both out of business. They are manufacturer defects that cost me money and perhaps raised the price of the car by 20-30%.

The one non-GM car I owned was a Nissan Maxima. I hate to admit it, but the quality was flawless.
