Let's not forget most people supported a war against Iraq following 9-11 (wasn't it over 70%+?). That's not even to talk about all the liberal Congress and Senate that voted for the war as well. People always tend to forget that most of the Senate and Congress supported the war, not just Bush.

http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...Democrats+who+supported+Iraq+War&fr=yfp-t-501

Let's not forget that Bush used mushroom cloud and Saddam in his state of the union and then selected unsubstantiated "evidence" to suggest that Saddam had a growing WMD enterprise....

Basically...Bush Lied. Congress trusted him. Big mistake.

Why are people giving him an F and not Congress? Congress has to approve of his shit.

Most of this shit was approved/rubber stamped with Republican majorities in Congress.

I do fault the Dems for running on a platform of "ending the war" to win back Congress but for NOT ENDING THE WAR.

It's hard to even suggest we're at war anymore. We're simply paying for troops to be stationed in the Middle East. And we seem not to be willing to stop this. The "missions" we hear about today are conducted by flying drones. Sure we need troops to act as spotters, but it seems the tactics we're employing today in Afghan don't warrant a troop buildup.

Our plan seems to be--wait around for movement in the mountains where we "think" Osama is, see movement, send out drone, bomb. And Repeat.:dunno:

I gave him a C-, but that's based on the views of a non-American who's country has not gone through the Iraq War. I understand where everyone comes from when they criticize him, though. He has turned America into something that it is not, though it is argurable that America was started on a downhill slope since the Cold War ended (At least to me it is).

Bush's mistakes far outweigh his successes, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be acknowledged. Like said before, Bush has given large amounts of aid to Africa, and for the first few months of his presidency he led the country well. I'm one of the few people who think that the war in Afghanistan is justified, as well. It might also be indirect, but because of the War in Afghanistan, and Canada's involvment, I myself felt more patriotic when I served in the army. Which makes no sense at all, I know.

I can see where people who criticize him come from, and no, there are no arguments for his mistakes with Katrina and Iraq. But, since I haven't been living with those problems as directly as most people on the board, I probably will give him a higher mark then most.

I wonder if the people who gave him A were sarcastic or delusional.....

What do you think? Sarcastic, of course. Not even.
He was just doing as he was told. The party boy. The puppet. He did a really good job at that - from day 1.

Actually, I wanted to print a T-shirt last year with the words: 'RE-ELECT BUSH' on the front, and 'JUST KIDDING' on the back. That might have been good for a few laughs near the end of the year.

You'd just have to make sure not to wear a jacket when you had that shirt on, or people might not get the joke and yell at you. :nanner:

Ageing Hippie Douche: Do you know what Bush has done to the people of Iraq? He has occupied their country and torn apart families and blah blah blardie blah!

I'd give him a C-

Now lets be honest about something:

The economy tanking during Bush's terms was not his fault

Just as the economic prosperity in the 1990s was not due to Clinton. In the 1990s there was a tech boom. That's why the economy was rolling then. Clinton did not cause the tech boom.

In the 2000s the tech, credit, and housing markets died. That's not Bush's fault. That's the fault of investors and people that spent money that they didn't have. Blame ordinary Americans for the financial problems we have now. It's not President Bush's fault. Clinton could still be the president and the same thing would have happened.

F

After seeing Obama's press conference tonight, he gets a F. I cant remember if or when Bush ever gave a press conference.
