grand theft auto 4 (PS3) - somewhat disappointed with it so far. the hero of the story is kind of an idiot (he wants to get away from violence and start a new life in america, but gladly goes to kill people without protesting), the girlfriend thing is annoying as hell (maybe in the next installment you have to go to teh bathroom twice a day? more realistic, you know), it seems the option of buying real estate has disappeared (although that might open up later, i'm not done with the game yet), and the mission design is as repetitive as ever. it's basically GTA3 with better graphics... not bad but not what i had expected. maybe it will get better later in the game.
gran turismo 5 prologue (PS3) - excellent arcade racer (i know sony calls it a simlator but that must be a joke on their part), but it lacks the ability to customise cars and there are only a few tracks. teh environments don't look all that good either, but the interior view of the cars is very well done. not worth the 40 bucks though, i should have waited for the full game to come out.
team fortress 2 (PC) - the new map is great fun, but gets repetitive too quickly. i hope valve will make more maps that use the same concept.

^^^picky. Just enjoy the games for what they are! The ones you listed, GTAIV and GT5 are both vastly improved over the previous games in said series. They are also both the first for the series on the new platforms. Rest assured when GTAV and GT6 come out they will blow away your notions of what makes a good game. These were mostly to test the hardware and see what would work on the new systems.
Neither system, by the way, has any games that really push the hardware anywhere near the edge of what they can actually do! Give it about 5 more years and we'll start seeing some crazy games! Once game developers start to realize the true potential of the 360 and PS3

the PS3 has 256MB RAM and a geforce 7800 graphics chip with a cut-down 128-bit memory bus... it was outdated before it was launched. the same can be said about th exbox. i know consoles are different from PCs, and i only recently bought my PS3 so i know there will be better things coming out at some point (MGS, sould calibur, hopefully a shenmue "director's cut" with all parts on one disc), but the technical stuff you mention does not seem related to the gameplay shortcomings of some games.
i will be starting assassin's creed tonight or tomorrow, maybe that will be good (and i am enjoying GTA 4, just not as much as when i first started playing GTA 3).

Oh I know. You can't upgrade the consoles like you can a PC. I really wish I could afford to have a top end gaming PC and be able to then afford to keep it updated to be able to play all the latest games! THEN be able to afford to buy a whole new one when I can no longer upgrade it any further. Thats why I stick with consoles. Which, coincidentally are to fucking expensive as it is!

Just got my 360 back, I checked the serial number and low and behold its actually the same console I sent in, not some refurbished bullshit!
What do I get for being without my games for 3 weeks? A fuckin free month to xbox live...seriously...I'm already on live, what good is one fucking month?
Anyway, I dunno what the hell I wanna play. I really don't feel like fuckin around with GTAIV, but I don't wanna get all wrapped up in GHIII right now either.

I am using a rom. Man, I can't defeat Lavos, the last enemy, cause I don't have the needed number of tonics or megatonics, they always finish at the time I need them. I think I should restart the game again .. or not? :thumbsup:
