What football clubs do you people support?

Heard on the pre-game show that GARETH BALE is a free agent after the season. Do you think he'll re-sign with TOTTENHAM ?

Bale is far from a free agent, his contract runs until 2016. If we wanted to be cunts, we could tell him "you're going nowhere son." But that breeds a terrible locker room atmosphere so we wouldn't do it.

Someone will sign him in the summer. He deserves to play Champions League football. He'll go to United, I can't see him going abroad.

Thanks, i must have heard wrong. Someone mentioned on the pre-game show that like you said, MAN U was the team. So in the summer, players can sign and play with other teams until the Premiere League starts up again ?

The transfer window in the summer typically runs from July 1st to September 1st. There is one in January as well.

A lot of people think Bale will go abroad, especially considering that we have a working relationship with Real Madrid. But Gareth is a man that drives his girlfriend and daughter back to Cardiff every day off the club gives him, so I can't see him moving abroad. I think it will be United, especially if Ronaldo stays at Real. I think Ronaldo would be first choice for them and Real do sell Cristiano then they'd try to get Bale. I even read a few weeks ago the possibility of Luka Modric coming back as a makeweight. But honestly selling a midfielder that just scored 26 goals in a season to replace him with one that usually got about 5 a year would be mental.

I don't think we'd need Bale with Fellaini looking set to come, and certainly not if we get Lewandowski.

Where do you see Spurs finishing next season? I personally think Liverpool will overtake you and you'll finish 6th. Everton will drop without Moyes I think.

I personally don't think Liverpool are there yet. I think they will definitely finish higher with the squad they have but I feel top 4 is too much to ask.

Unfortunately I see Chelsea winning next year once Mourinho most likely comes in, the way he makes it a war , as was shown with Porto and Real . I'm certain Oscar and Hazard will have collapsible legs next season as a big part of Mourinho's game plan is always set peices, he usually has guys good in the air and wingers who will go down for fun to get freekicks to swing in(Robben, Cole, Sneijder, Pandev, Maicon, Di Maria, Ronaldo). And he usually has 1 or 2 players who are a bit dirty and always causing a bit of trouble to wind up the opposition, I could definetly see one of them as being Luiz(Pepe, Ramos, Samuel, Cambiasso, Motta, Materazzi) and he always has one or two players who are always in the Refs ear like Ramos and Alonso do at Madrid and Stankovic and Zanetti done at Inter and Lampard and Terry before at Chelsea just to keep pressure on the Ref.

If city get Pellegrini then it will be close between the two Manchester clubs. I rate Pellegrini higher than Moyes as a manager. The only thing is, Moyes knows the premiership like the back of his hand

I'd go
1.Chelsea(unfortunately, as I can't stand Chelsea)
2/3.Man U or City
4/5.Tottenham or Arsenal
6.Liverpool

It's too difficult to judge until we know for certain who the new managers of City and Chelsea will be. If Chelsea do get Mourinho it's likely to become a real 3-horse race for top spot, but I don't think Chelsea will clinch it. Moyes may never have won anything, but Man United still have the same players who glue and know how to win. People are saying we'll be fighting for top 4 but that's shit.

With City I think they've made a massive mistake sacking Mancini. I think he's overrated but United losing SAF could have been their ticket to a second title. In fact, I'm 90% certain they would have won it next season with Mancini.

As for Liverpool, I think they've definitely got a good chance of finishing 5th with Moyes leaving Everton and Bale possibly leaving Spurs. I don't think they'll get top 4 for a while now, but 5th is definitely reachable.

I agree with that mostly. Even though Mourinho hasn't been confirmed as the Chelsea manager, it's almost certain. Lampard's contract extension is a big part of that in my opinion as there has been no sign of Chelsea wanting to renew it all season. I don't agree with the way his teams play at all. The way his Porto team played in the uefa cup in 2003 and in the champions league in 2004 was not fair play at all, but no one can disagree it was still a tremendous achievement. With the way he manages teams, I could see them winning, although it is by no means a certainty and could be very close

I agree with the Manchini thing. He should have done much better with the players he had and money he spent but getting all the ego's to bond was never going to be easy and the board based a lot of the decision on the champions league performances, even though they had two tough groups. If they had stuck with him though, I really think they could have one again next year.

Livepool are well capable of finishing 5th without a doubt and Bale could play a big part in that. I don't see Bale going though, he he was on fire this season but when he's on form he is easily worth huge money. I don't know if a club will pay over 40/50 million for him, perhaps barring Barca, Madrid, Bayern Munich

It definitely isn't certain even if they get Mourinho but it will make things more interesting for sure.

Mancini has been poor. His Champions league group may have been very difficult this year, but they shouldn't have finished 4th after spending the money they have (in comparison to Dortmund and Ajax).

It's difficult with Bale. Spurs won't want to sell him for small money because he's the best thing that's happened to them in a while, but as you say, not many clubs will pay 40 million or more for him. United certainly won't. On the other hand, if he wants to go, they may realise it's for the best to let him go and will have to sell him for a smaller price. I'd say Bale is worth the 24 million mark.

Where do you see Spurs finishing next season?

Probably make some dodgy signings, overreact to poor start by sacking the manager and finish 8th. Due one of them.

I'd say Bale is worth the 24 million mark.

Given some of the money paid for relative rubbish by other clubs (mostly Liverpool) over the last couple of years, and his comparative worth to us, I'd be insulted if we sold him for less than 40M. A world in which Henderson costs 20M and Bale only 24M must not exist, nor one where Gareth Bale is cheaper after the season he just had than what Andy Carroll went for.

But a world in which Henderson costs 20m and Van persie only 22.5m already does haha.

Joke isn't it. But then I always resented paying 16.5 for Darren Bent the same summer Barcelona signed Terry Bastard Henry for 16.

The direct comparison I suppose between the two is when van Persie signed for United he was 29. Gaz will only be 24 by the start of next season. You're not just paying for him now, you're paying for how good he might become in the next 5 years.

Apparently Gareth has given a quote to Sky saying that if he DOES leave Spurs, he'd like to stay in England. Well fuck me, if I haven't been saying that for six months.

I'd say Bale is worth the 24 million mark.
I'd actually say about 35 at least for a player of bale's quality. He's only 23 so he has plenty of time to get better and mature. If I was selling him I'd also look for a good sell on fee percentage.

I'd rate Victor Wanyama as about 15 million- with Alex Ferguson sending his scouts up several times and coming up to see him himself a couple if times he was definitely the player to fill the holding role at Man U. I'd imagine they'd go for Fellaini now, though the point still stands.

With bale's age and ability he shouldn't go for any less than 30-35 million with about a 25-30% sell on fee.

i like Arsenal London, however they dissapointed me a lot, selling their good players, Wenger not giving a shit, i just hope Wenger will leave and hope Arabs wont buy it.

Now that the stadium is finally paid for, I imagine they may be slightly less of a selling club and being able to pay slightly better wages. It probably still won't stop mercenary players leaving for Chelsea or City who can pay more.

You really don't want Wenger to leave. He's the most successful manager the club has had since the 1930s, he's got a proven track record in buying young unproven players and turning them into world beaters, and he's kept the club competing on a modest budget with the two tycoon-funded powerhouses and Manchester United, the best-run football club in the country. As tight as it has been keeping the club in the Champions League qualifying positions the last two years, I can't imagine managerial upheaval would be in the team's best interests.

As a Spurs fan, I too don't want Arsenal taken over by billionaires. I would love to see them taken over by a Londoner who believes in their traditions and roots. So much so that he invests in another new ground for them, and moves them back to Woolwich where they belong, and start contesting the South East London Derby with Charlton Athletic.

True, but he also might not become all that good. Van Persie may be 29, but he's probably got at least 3 seasons left in him at his current level. If Bale really does want to stay in England, the only team I could see ever meeting the price Spurs will want would be City. So for that reason I think he'll be at Tottenham next season.

There is a possibility that Levy will sit him down and have the "Modric chat" with him, which goes something like : "Listen mate, you only just signed a six year contract. We don't have to let you go anywhere and you're our top earner. Give us one more year and if we can't get back into the Champions League we'll let you leave next summer."

The New York Yankees paired up with the world's richest soccer club on Tuesday in a dramatic move that will see the iconic baseball franchise acquire Major League Soccer's newest team and potentially stage games at Yankee Stadium.
MLS chiefs revealed that the Yankees and Manchester City, the 2012 English Premier League champion backed by the endless wealth of the Abu Dhabi royal family, will combine to own New York City Football Club, which is expected to begin MLS play in 2015.
The intriguing prospect of the team sharing Yankee Stadium is a likely one, at least until the new organization finds or builds a stadium of its own.
''Yankee Stadium is an option, as are many places,'' Yankees president Randy Levine said.
City's owners shelled out a record $100 million "franchise fee" to MLS for the rights to operate a team and will own a majority share, with the Yankees' stake amounting to around 25 percent.
"We are pleased to be associated with this major move by MLS to increase its presence in the New York market and to enhance the opportunity for New York soccer fans to enjoy high-level play in their own city," said Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner. "We look forward to the opportunity to work with Manchester City to create something very special for the soccer fans of New York – and to bringing another terrific team to this city for all sports fans to enjoy."
The new acquisition and the mighty financial muscle possessed by the City/Yankees partnership has the ability to significantly alter the MLS landscape and there is little chance that either franchise will be content with being just another team in the league.
Upon purchasing City in 2008, the Abu Dhabi group set about furnishing the squad with some of the best, most expensive players in the world, turning a team mired in mediocrity for years into one of the EPL's signature members.
A club source told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday that a similar approach should be expected in the Big Apple, albeit on a smaller scale to reflect the structural differences between European and American soccer.
"This is not some little side project," said the source. "It is an important part of building the brand of Manchester City Football Club and in that sense it is crucial that the new team represents the overall message in the right way.
"There has already been a deep financial commitment to buy the rights to operate and that will be matched by a commitment to build a team that can hopefully be the best in the league. MLS obviously has some salary cap restrictions that we don't have in England but expect some major signings.
"Things are not at that stage yet," the source continued, "but the blueprint can be expected to be a combination of big names, high-quality imports, a strong core of experienced American players, plus an efficient development system to build future talent."
Serious talks between City and the MLS hierarchy have been ongoing for several months, but the addition of the Yankees to the deal was a more recent development. It is hoped that the Yankees can provide some political leverage in the New York market when it comes to seeking permission for a new stadium, possibly in the Flushing-Corona Park area in the borough of Queens.
There were already links between the two organizations, as the Yankees' expanding corporate hospitality business has a long-term contract to provide services at City's Etihad Stadium.
New York already has one MLS team, the Red Bulls, who play in Harrison, N.J., and includes the league's highest-paid player in French superstar Thierry Henry.
"This is a transformational development that will elevate the league to new heights in this country," said MLS commissioner Don Garber. "The New York area is home to more than 19 million people, and we look forward to an intense crosstown rivalry between New York City Football Club and the New York Red Bulls that will captivate this great city."
New York City F.C. will become the league's 20th team – a number that is likely to remain steady for the next few years following a period of rapid expansion. MLS had only 10 teams in 2002, and just 12 in 2006.
Tuesday's announcement was timed to coincide with the arrival of Manchester City for a mini-tour of the United States, with the team set to face EPL rival Chelsea in St. Louis on Thursday and at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
