What are your plans for Valentines day?

Since it's on a Friday and we've only been together a couple of months I'm leaving the ball in her court. I'm leaving a card on her windshield before she drives to work. Flowers are going to be delivered to her desk. I've got someone from her job to drop her a box of candy from me. After that she better have something planned because I made no indication of having made any other plans. Let's see what she comes up with. Valentine's Day is a 2 way street.

So true. I get more and more frustrated each year that Valentine's Day is mainly marketed toward women, and the gifts we like are pretty easy to get- flowers, chocolates, jewelry. It's a little tougher to find the right stuff for men, and I'm always struggling to figure out what to get the guy I'm with. I've even been known to be the type of person who googles "gift ideas for men" when a gift-giving holiday is coming up. In the past, I've made boyfriends cookies, dressed up all sexy for them, got one guy tickets to Comic Con, and this year it's a sex game. I prefer to get people gifts that are more of an experience than just a physical gift, as personally I think that's what life is all about, having fun experiences and making memories.

Anyway, yeah, I think I put way too much thought in finding the perfect gift. Heck, sometimes I spend so much time focusing on what gift to get someone that I forget the card, which is a no-brainer.

What I do every year, bake a cake for mom. It's her birthday. Dad is in for double crap if he forgets though.

I get flowers, dinners & gifts on a regular basis anyway because I'm a spoiled, lucky bitch.

I'm having an hour long Member Chat on my site and then have reservations for dinner.
I have really nice gifts picked out for my date but their birthday is next week and mine is next month, so we agreed not to purchase anything until then.
I found a really nice, vintage straight razor with a wolf & ram on it that I HAVE to buy.

I'll probably cheat on the no-gift rule and buy them a nice computer mouse because I already bought them a claw & keyboard because they're my Final Fantasy 14 buddy.

Us guys do have the advantage but the reality is that few recognize that. On a retail level, women shop early and men shop late. The rush of men in desperation for a box of chocolate and a card
on their way home from work ON VALENTINE'S DAY is hysterical. All we have left for them are 30-50 dollar boxes of chocolates and $10 greeting cards and they blow out. And the restaurant scam is even worse. Limit the menu and package a price. I gave that shit up long ago.

Men are also pretty simple to romance. A card with tickets inside is a fabulous idea. Nothing wrong with cooking dinner for me either. I appreciate the planning and work going into it. Since most of my years have been in long relationships, an overnight or weekend trip had been pretty common. We both made our secret plans and as V Day came closer, one of us would say, "Pack your bags and I'll drive" to this secret location. It didn't have to be anything elaborate.

One time a woman was taking me on one of her secret trips. I mentioned to her that there was a Sonic in the area which was rare in my parts. "You want Sonic? You've got Sonic." I say "No no, I was just saying..." She took the next ramp off the highway on 2 wheels to get me to that Sonic. Crazy to me but also very romantic on her part.

Hmm.. Yeah, all that is good, but it's tough when you're low on money. Ideally, I'd love to get him a trip for us somewhere, maybe a cabin in the woods by a ski resort or even better, somewhere nice and warm, but judging by the weather across the entire country at this moment, that's hard to find when even the southern part of Texas is getting snow this year. Either way, even if the weather was cooperating, I can't afford a trip :( So I went with the sex themed board game. Will be lots of massaging, sex, etc. I wish I could get him something else too though, but I have no idea what to get. He's out for the day, so I have all day to go pick something up if I can figure something out. He doesn't drink, so a beer bouquet is out of the question, doesn't smoke, so a cigar bouquet isn't happening, and since he's my photographer, he sees me in all sorts of sexy lingerie all the time, so that's really not going to be a thrill for him like it would most guys.

I was tempted to get him a heart shaped box of chocolates. Who says guys don't like chocolate too?

Oh, and I love Sonic. Their slushies are the best. And mmm, chili cheese hot dogs and tator tots. Anytime we travel to somewhere that has one nearby, we always make it a point to go there at least once during the trip.

..... it's tough when you're low on money ..... I have no idea what to get ..... and since he's my photographer .....

Make a custom hearts shaped bokeh for his camera. He will dig that you're really into his profession and he can take heart themed photos of you to remember how much he is in love with you.

It's been a bad rail at Yonkers this week. The middle of the pack have been charging home.

I'm going to the girl whom I've been dating's house. We're then going to the grocery store to buy things to make homemade pizza. She didn't want to do something normal and all lovey dovey since we're still in the early stages. I figured this would be a fun thing to do. Shop for dinner together and make dinner together. It should be pretty fun and relaxing. There will be Brunello and Grand Cru Champagne.

That's a cool idea : ) You can't go wrong with pizza in my book!

A bubble bath with rose petals and candles. Then after I'm all refreshed and cleaned up, the wife comes home from work and we'll go to McDonald's and a movie or some shit.

No date this year for V-Day. Actually feels sorta lame... :(

On the bright side, I'm not paying an outrageous amount for dinner, a massage, and a spa treatment. So there's that. I'll probably just watch Boardwalk Empire and cry myself to sleep. You know, typical Friday night stuff.

Oh yeah, my brother scheduled our first baseball practice of the year Friday night from 6:00-8:30. Pretty sure he didn't run that by his wife at all. So that could be entertaining.
