Re: What you watching right now!
The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.
Yup, the cult favorite with Andrew Dice Clay, maybe before he turned into a fat fuck and stopped being funny, and yeah, directed by legendary fun Finnish hack Renny Harlin (Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4, Cutthroat Island, The Long Kiss Good Night, Die Hard 2, ect). Anyway, I love ridiculous shit like this film. It's just fun all around. A damn shame how Political Correctness killed his career, as I quite liked the Diceman character, in moderation.
There truely was a moment in stand-up comedy when it was just Dice and Kinnison (RIP). Now, thankfully, we got much better guys: The late/great Bill Hicks (RIP), whom was a friend of Kinnison, and Doug Stanhope, who just plain rocks.
I DV-R'd it. I'll have to order the DVD soon. I can't wait to hear Renny's commentary.
Dr.Death:
Tourist Trap is a fine, underrated gerne film. I got it on DVD. Chuck Conners is wonderfully creepy in that film.
Tonight I also watched the so-so 2006 documentary Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film on STARZ Mystery. Later on this year, they're doin' a new one, and it'll be called His Name Was Jason about the Friday the 13th films. I can't wait, since I'm a big series fan. They're already planning the DVD to be loaded with Extras (over two hours worth, they said).
