Vince Young = Tommy Fraizer
'nuff said.
No matter what Mike Wilbom tells you, the NFL is still a league were you need a QB who is able to read defences, make the simple throw, and not make any mistakes.
Running is for the wunning backs. Throwing and leading the offence is for the QB. I'd take the USC back up over Vince Young.
I don't see Vince Young as Tommie Frazier at all. First off, Frazier was no passer. Osborne's offense was strictly option-oriented so there's no comparison there.
And no, you don't want a QB to be your featured runner, but it is sure a nice luxury to have a guy who can pick up that first down when you need it by scrambling out of the pocket and takingoff down the field, and Vince can certainly do that....better than just about anyone I would say.
As far as reading defenses, that is one of the strongest things Vince has going for him so that won't be an issue. I do agree that Vince will have to learn to be a drop-back pocket passer and will need to refine his throwing motion to be a top-flight NFL QB. That can be coached. What you can't coach is his God-given ability. I see him as a totally unique talent that can beat you with his arm or his legs....and his leadership skills are superb. Closest comparison would be a bigger, faster Steve Young I guess.
Leinart and Bush will be awesome NFL players and I don't know why anyone would dis them. Leinart is a Carson Palmer clone and Reggie is....well, Reggie.
