Just throw Boehner in Guantanamo for being an 'enemy combatant'. Let some other boneheads join him.

:1orglaugh
Let's see him cry his way out of that one. Boehner would be the first person ever to water board himself from all the bawling he does......;)

Here's a thought, if you're not squeamish and don't mind seeing or getting grey matter all over you from an exploding noggin'

Corral a tea bagger or two...then ask them how many times the debt ceiling has been raised in their lifetimes? If there's not a a mound of watermelon chunks and grey stuff all over the place after that question, ask them are they surprised the world is still here after all the other debt ceiling raises?

Boehner is trying to beat the Hobbits, and you know how that is going to end :elaugh:

But what none of these critics have is an alternative strategy for achieving anything nearly as fiscally or politically beneficial as Mr. Boehner's plan. The idea seems to be that if the House GOP refuses to raise the debt ceiling, a default crisis or gradual government shutdown will ensue, and the public will turn en masse against . . . Barack Obama. The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor.

Monsters of their making...

Nothing like stoking the fire on your neighbor's house only to find you did such a good job of it now the flames have jumped to your house....

Serves 'em right for radicalizing and empowering this nutjob mob with misinformation...

In the meantime.... Stop Spending & Stop Printing!

I just love all of these non tax paying mooches in society who sit on the sidelines cheering for the greater expansion of government as they sit at their desktop bolting down twinkys, bon-bons etc. while washing it all down with a 48oz. super tanker coke classic. Get a life !:1orglaugh

It is Thursday past the deadline of when Boner and the Wackoes were supposed to vote on Boner's own bill, and seeing as they can't even pass anything their HEAD authors....

I gotta say that I think we're headed for default. I could see the Dems caving to the whims of the GOP moreso then the GOP actually compromising.

Harry Reid's bill is basically a pre-Tea Party Republican-esque bill, and they won't even look at it.

I think without any actual revenue increase there is nothing serious in anyone's bills. It's all pretty much bullshit. The GOP want to string this issue out thinking that they can use it as an election issue whille the Dems want to actually have SOMETHING to show other than the Stimulus.

If the country does default it will be the end of the Republican Party as we knew it pre-2010. The GOP will simply become a small group of 1776-loving wackoes plus a larger pro-Business satellite org of the Chamber of Commerce.

And the people will elect Dem majorities in both houses of Congress plus Obama gets a laugher win for re-election.

In sum, dafaulting is the best thing that can happen for the Dems rather than caving to the misguided whims of the tea baggers and the clueless GOP.

I really don't see any deal coming unless Obama does something crazy like firing Geitner and replacing him with Bill Clinton.

The republicans are basically fucking themselves in their own asses. This is really coming off poorly to the American people. It is even more embarrassing that Bhoener can't even get enough votes from his own party. This is of course on top of the Paul Ryan debacle that all these republican idiots voted for. The tea party is going to be the quickest flash in the pan we've ever seen. They will all be voted out of office and I feel the Dems with control the house again.

And on the way out of office I hope citizens are lined up to kick all these tea baggers right in their fuckin cocks.

I think if the Republicans don't get their shit together before the deadline, Obama will 100% surely be reelected. At this point even leading Republicans are telling other Republicans to get their ass in line...

Obama will be re elected if the country is in good shape and getting better. It is a toss up at best if the economy is bad along with other policies...no matter who is to blame.

Again I ask...just putting aside the fact that I believe GOPers want to drag this process out despite the harm it causes if for no other reason it keeps Obama from being out on the campaign trail raising record amounts of money... Not many people see or understand that component. GOPers have been fast at work effecting ever political trick in the book down to the detail to make sure Obama is a one term president. From changing voting standards on up to I believe jiggering with this debt ceiling crisis.

This isn't by any means out of the blue...They knew this was coming up because they know the budget projections. I truly believe this was calculated to the last detail by GOPers.

As it stands, it will already cost us an uncountable amount of debt just in the fact that our credit rating is bound to take a hit as has been warned. Do the fuckers care about that?? Fuck no...it's worth it so that Obama is defeated.

Now do some of you lily livers who try to straddle to middle just for middle's sake believe me when I say GOPers are just worse???

Meh, screw my article sources. The only reason I posted the articles was to show that the Republican leadership is starting to shit on the Republicans. I can find the same quotes on left or right sources.

I still think that this whole issue looks just as bad on the Republicans as it does on the Democrats. Everyone looks like ragincaucasin's retarded step-brother - ineffective and useless.

Okay...whomever says whatever...left or right. GOPers don't stand a chance no matter what they do if the economy is humming going into '12 elections.

Think about that for a second...

Therefore, in who's interests is it that there be chaos, disruption and economic failure?

What are their candidates going to stand up and say, 'the economy is great...let's kick Obama out'?

I just watched 90 minutes of "debate" in the House of Representatives on CSPAN, and after having actually watched it I'm pretty sure there will be no deal coming.

For one thing, it's quite stunning to watch Republican after Republican champion Dubya's administration as if that was actually a great time for America's prosperity. They appear to be willing to ignore the consequence (Wall St Crash) of that wonderful bubble bullshit economy. "Times were great under Dubya! Unemployment was down! Tax cuts for all! Yay!"

When we have a political system set up to be nothing more than speechmaking and media interviews--what do we really expect? Many politicians talk about our bond rating tanking, but I wonder if any of them actually know anything about global economics? They just parrot back the same sound byte lines.

I do worry that the Dems will revert to spineless mode and cave to the GOP.

It's time to teach the GOP that running up wars and cutting taxes has real consequences. Going into default might be the only way to bring the troops home

If the Gov't can't pay the bills of the war machine, it's time to bring the war machine home.

I see what you are saying.

However, in the '12 elections, if things have taken an even bigger turn to the poo because of this debt ceiling vote, it will be an easy sell to the American public that the fault lies as much with the Republicans as with the Democrats.

Honestly, during the election debates, imagine the question: "Why did your party line up to not allow the debt ceiling to be raised? Why did you destroy the economy in this way?"

Meh. This is a lose-lose situation. They need to get their shit in line, and not default. Honestly, that would be so bad, I don't think anyone has fully acknowledged just how devastating that would be.

I don't know what a GOPer could be on to champion GWB's error...errr era nor what even more under the influence a Demo could be on to stand and listen to it.

Again, the guy rang up debt like it was free nachos at a Tex-Mex restaurant, ran a 3 pct u/e rate to the mid 7s then helo'ed out of DC as the country and Washington was going up in flames ala the Independence Day movie.

You had Pelosi who pledged no more pork..but then added 5 trillion dollars to the debt.

Trust me, democracy has failed, as it will always fail. When 51% have more say than the other 49%, what do you have?A democratic government can be just as oppressing as a totalitarian state. The right of the strongest is the only right that makes any sense, that is natural. Some say the pen is mightier than the sword, but the man with the sword can force the man with the pen what to write.
