Thats understandable...I say too soon for a movie like this and its not right to release a movie like this trying to profit off of this...Since some of the money made from the movie is going to go to victims of the families and a memorial, that might make it "a little" better but its just more Hollywood greed

Hate to beat a dead horse here, but…..

Fat man Mikey Moore made a hell of a lot of money off of 9/11. And he made it by lying and twisting the facts. And that was almost 2 years ago.

As for this, well, whatever.

just a money grabber...

a lot of people now believe flight 93 was shot down..

i mean, if someone sends a bomber into US territory, i garuntee you that a bomber of some sort is right on its ass within minutes... why was this not the case with the 3 other flights? i dont know, but flight 93 was shot down.

the bravery and such of the passengers is a great heroic story, but it is beating the subject at hand to death

The recording from inside the hijacked US airliner which crashed in Pennsylvania on 11 September has been played to an American jury in the sentencing trial of al-Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui, according to the BBC:

US jurors hear 9/11 cockpit tape

As for Oliver Stone's World Trade Center movie - I'll be avoiding that film too....

Well any movie is made to make money. It really doesn'y bother me that they are making movies about 9/11 though, but it is not really needed since we saw so much coverage of it on the news. To see it recreated for a large scale movie just seems like a waste of money.

I'll also be avoiding any movie dealing with 9/11, I did not see Mr. Moore's movie and no plans to see any of the others. It just seems to soon and the feeling of 9/11 is still too real for me.

Those f@#$@ing Hollywood assholes are just trying to make money off our fears and sorrows, not to mention the families involved directly. We will NEVER forget, but do we really need to be reminded?

why wouldn't they make a movie about it? they make movies about pretty much every major event. I'm going to bite my tongue about any further comments on the specific event. If it really offends you that much, then don't watch it.

Also, George Bush made a hell of a lot of money off of 9/11. And he made it by lying and twisting the facts. And that was almost 4 years ago.

You guys gotta remember, there are plenty of movies about disasters here, and Im sure all of you have seen at least one of them. You cant blame hollywood now just because they made the movie not to long after the actual attack. Its supposed to have impact and we cant be mad cause they didnt wait 20 years before making it. You cant be mad at them for making a movie about a disaster just because that disaster happened recently or in your lifetime, and then at the same time go out and see other movies about disasters and not really care just because you dont really know anything about them or they happened before you were born.

On the subject of people who make money off of it, ALOT of people did. Everyone who made the shirts, buttons, figures, bumper stickers and all kinds of other items made money off people buying them. Some of you on this board may have even paid someone and gotten an item about it. Lots of people make money off of stuff like this, its the bastards who do it in a bad way who piss me and others off. I dont really know much about the movie but Id rather pay to prob get some info from the movie than to just pay for some t-shirt that says I wont forget.

But this is my opinion, and I dont mean to offend anyone else.

In theory, I have no problem with them making a movie about the events that happen then.....if it is done properly and for the right reasons. It is after all reality, and it's not going to change just because we don't want to relive what happened at that time. Of course I can also see why some people would be very suspicious of the intentions of any movie producers that want to go out and make a movie like this. It is hard to trust some people motivations.

good point, and I think the fact that the families of Flight 93 gave their blessing for this movie, if they knew the incidcent would be exploited then they would not have allowed it to be made in the first place.

It's a personal decision. A friend of a friend of mine worked in the Twin Towers that day.

,What pisses me off about this type of movie, is that it takes basically no talent in a script or direction to create a film, the premise of reality of what happened is already there. The second thing that pisses me off royally is that the fabrication of, "what it was like", in no way comes close to the reality of, "what actually happened"! Let's just make it all up! Who will know? Let's make money! How about Ben Affleck?

Hey, let's add a love interest and show where all these lives were headed before the disaster! That would be original, huh?

It's a cheap shot by a bunch of Hollywood types to make money on something, having no imagination of their own to ever come up with something original. The news clips were "better" and made a more captivating real story than any movie.

Total crap.

It's funny, in NY, the only people who wear NYFD T-shirts are firemen and their families. No one else out of respect wears them. Everywhere else in the US, cheap NYFD T-shirts are sold and everyone wears them! I knew firemen killed on 9/11, and their families, and every fireman I knew lost 20-30 of his friends.

The problem in today's society, most people have short memories:

"Last July's public transit bombings in London have inspired a new film by a veteran Bollywood filmmaker.
Director, producer and screenwriter Mahesh Bhatt has revealed that his upcoming movie will tentatively be titled Suicide Bomber.

According to Bhatt, the film will tell the fictionalized story of a young Muslim bomber who is part of the July 2005 bombing but fails to detonate his explosives. The young man then flees to India, where he begins to question the motives behind the act."

Details:
London bombing inspired Indian filmmaker's latest

I haven't heard anything about proposed movies about Madrid (3/11) or the bombings in Bali & the Amman hotels in Jordan, but human nature being what it is, it's only a matter of time.

I'm going to stay away from the Poltical debate here but I will say That the Director of United 93 has a movie under his belt called Bloody Sunday and it to me is a great movie about a horrible tragedy so atleast they got a competent director and not Michael Bay to go all super action movie on us, so I think there is atleast some thought going into this.
