2 years ago I was fired from my job for selling alcohol to a minor. I got a fine and 2 years court supervision. Unfortunately now I am unable to find a job pretty much anywhere due to this. It's a loss prevention issue and it's keeping me form a job. My cout supervision ends in February. Any tips on what I can do?

What have you been doing for the last two years?

Oh my God, a person that is not employed (and started this thread) asked for advice to get back in the work force.

Every comment was sarcastic and narcissistic except for mine.

You people that have been members of this forum for several months treat new members with disregard and contempt.

You don't remember when you were young and would like to have a "helping hand" to guide you along.

Nobody does that anymore.

It is easier to sling insults than give good advice.

Calm down, read afew threads and you will realise that most of the posts here are jokes in some way, especially in threads like this, where it is so easy to poke fun. Don't take everything said on here to heart

Ace Boobtoucher

Founder and Captain of the Douchepatrol
Assistant Crack Whore sounds like an appropriate position for you.

I asked what he was doing for the past 2 years. That's not an insult.

Finding a job can be hard work, but if you persist and don't give up then good things will happen. I have been fortunate enough to pick up consultant work, sure I may take a small pay cut but I am just happy to be working in some capacity.

Could you be more specific? I am sure there are people here that would like to give you some advice, but you did say anything about yourself except for a misdemeanor conviction that happened to you almost two years ago.

I don't believe that conviction would prohibit anyone from getting a job unless you wanted to go back working at a convenience/liquor store or bar.

Just read your local newspaper and start filling out applications.

Good luck, and let everyone know what happens to you.

on court supervision for 3 more months. have been truned down by two jobs during the background check, after corporate wouldn't allow me to be hired. one place sold alcohol, but i wa shired to stock shelves, the other place didn't sell alcohol but they consider it a loss prevention issue

I asked what he was doing for the past 2 years. That's not an insult.

Put all that on your resume - show how you've been learning and working.

Be up front about the conviction. If you didn't sell intentionally then it was simply a mistake. It happens all the time. Getting busted for it sucks.

It's a hurdle but you'll overcome it.

I've seen some of your jokes. Some of them aren't witty or funny and are mean. I'm sure they come off better in your head, but some just come off offensive.

hey now, I offered legit advice! Webcamming is very well suited to those who are in school - can make your own schedule, can stay at home and study while you're waiting for camshows...might sound like I'm joking but its a damn good job if he's somewhat hot and can keep his dick hard without jizzing for a few hours!! Oh and if he doesn't mind that he'd be performing for dudes, but hey, moneys money. You do what you gotta do right.

So you have an actual criminal record, yes? Misdemeanor or felony?

Despite what people are telling you in this thread about "UPS hiring anyone", sorry to say it is virtually impossible for ANYONE with a criminal record to get a job at least in the US in the current economic state. I know this having been out of work for over 4 years and having a misdemeanor conviction. Thing is, while it is illegal for people in the US to be disqualified from a job on the basis of their religion/race/sex/sexual orientation/handicap, if you have a criminal record it's pretty much 'Go FUCK yourself,' even with the employment agencies.

I was in Adecco, (a temp agency) and went through the whole 45 minute filling out forms process only ot have the semi-flunky get halfway through it and say, 'We can't hire you.' 'Why?' 'You have a criminal record?' 'So, it would be illegal for you to hire me? I REALLY doubt that, it's more like, you WON'T hire me. Saying that you can't is beyond insulting to me, not to mention that you could have mentioned that you discriminate before I spent 45 minutes filling out the forms.'

Fun, fun, fun!!!!

Bottom line, it will be nigh on impossible for you to get a job with a criminal record.
