Trump says weighing run for POTUS in 2016

Hillary will not win against any decent GOP candidate. She is as unliked by the independents as the far right teapublicans. I have been called a libatard on here a bunch and I won't vote for her

Please define "decent GOP candidate". I don't want to vote for her either but....against Ted Cruz, Rand Paul or Marco Rubio? I'd be torn between voting for the Green Party nominee or (gulp) holding my nose and voting for Clinton just to prevent one of those other lunatics from being elected.

Do it. I'll join you. Let's stop voting evil, the lesser or not, onto the USA.

Remember the USFL? Donald owned a franchise and insisted that the league move from a spring to fall schedule and filing an anti-trust suit against the NFL. Sure the USFL won the suit and collected $3 for their efforts and the league folded.

How about Trump University? It's being sued for being a pyramid scheme.

How about Mike Enzi (r-wy) or Mike Simpson (R-id)

The best candidate the GOP can run in 2016 is McCain again (just don't choose a dumb bitch like Palin, otherwise you would beat Obama in 08). Or Huckleby.

If the GOP runs a TEA party type radical, then there will be a land side for the Dems. The GOP needs a moderate that can compromise.

But Trump? Nah.

I really hope they run either Huckleby or McCain. Neither has a chance of winning.

It is the moderate vote that decided elections.

Well, somewhat true. Minorities help decide elections, and neither candidate mentioned is going to get that vote. Women help decide elections, and neither candidate mentioned is going to get that vote. Independents help decide elections, and neither candidate mentioned is going to get that vote. At least some moderates are going to vote Democratic, so that's not enough help to mount what is seemingly an insurmountable handicap for Republican candidates.

The Republican party is very broken right now. That's not to say the Democratic party isn't, too. I would love to see two healthy parties, so that we actually had to think beyond party lines to vote. Even more, I'd love to see four or five parties.

I have voted third party in a few elections and in the coming elections I see myself doing it again

The issue with that is that in the current American political landscape, a third party vote is essentially a vote of abstinence. And that sucks. Balls. Big, hairy goat balls. There should be a nationally viable third party, and the Tea Party sure as heck isn't that.

I agree with you whole heartedly. I do it when I believe both candidates are awful and there is no lesser of 2 evils. At that point I vote for who I actually believe to be the best candidate.

This is where I disagree with you while supporting your right to have a perfectly valid opinion. I've spent 20 or more years trying to get excited about the Libertarian Party, but if there was anything to get excited about it would have happened by now. As Steve Buscemi said in Armageddon, "Embrace the horror". I am forced to accept the American 2 Party system. Not only is a third Party vote a wasted vote, but in the current environment a nebulous case can be made that it's an indirect vote for the Tea Party.

And here is one big problem among many: the two-party trap. That nebulous case can of course always be made for 'the worse of the two evils' - it's a very effective scare tactic, whether you're a Republican trying to convince moderates to vote Republican, or a Democrat trying to convince moderates to vote Democrat.

This is all to say that I disagree with these sentiments, and for this reason: as far as deciding on a winner, it's a waste - but so is voting for a Republican or Democrat. Factor in the electoral college and I can vote for whoever I damn-well please, my vote (in Oregon) will always be effectively for the Democrat. But - voting for either of the two main parties, while just as much of a waste, is also tacit approval to what they do.

Do you really approve of what they do? Whether or not you mean it, this is what you're saying with an (R) or (D) vote. Why would these parties change anything they do when they recieve resounding approval every election cycle? Approval polls certainly don't mean shit - the American public giving Congress a 10% approval rating while re-electing 90% of them is akin to bitching about the fat content in McDonald's food while eating there every day. Not eating there won't make McDonald's go away, but you won't buy shit you don't want in restaurants or stores, so why are we buying shit we don't want in politics?

Trump keeps talking about manufacturing jobs lost to China. We need people here working and making things. What does Donald Trump manufacture? Luxury housing, hotels, and office space. He doesn't build cars, toys, air conditioners, televisions, toilet paper, furniture, or any other consumer goods. He licenses his name to high end goods but I wonder where that shit is made.

You just made shivers go down my spine.

Why Does Donald Trump Constantly Tease About Running For President When Everyone Knows He's Not?

Donald Trump is afraid of running for President. He wouldn't get past Michele Bachmann at the GOP debates and he knows it. She'd waffle his ego with a haymaker then he'd go on Greta and say he had the flu and wasn't ready. She would, of course, believe him.

Re: Why Does Donald Trump Constantly Tease About Running For President When Everyone Knows He's Not?

He can't afford to run, he needs the money from his TV show. He doesn't own the things with his name on them (Trump Tower, etc) only gets a fee for it's use and some stock. He's a terrible businessman going near broke at least twice. If he doesn't keep up the BS machine things will start to fall apart on him.

He likes attention. The only way he can get it now is to perform a dog and pony show for the people in a slow news time.
