My wife and I have talked about renting Season 1 and giving it a try. Does it appeal well to both genders? I've seen some reviews that indicated it was sappy and not very "guy friendly," but then I think, "How can seeing Anna Paquin nude NOT be guy friendly?"

What!!??? I always thought True Blood was made for guys.

I watched the first episode .... meh :dunno:

I didn't really get into True Blood until about mid season.

As a fan of The Wire(which I think is the greatest show ever) I think you should give it a chance.

Hmm.. Strangely I too just recently learned of this show when I got the first of the novels it's based on as a X-mas present. the book was.. o.k.. maybe the show is better? Wonder how close the show sticks to the books? Loosely I'd imagine.

Well.. as one can see the nude scenes, I guess that makes the show better right off the bat eh? ;)

Seeing Eric, this 1,000 year old viking, in tears got me a little misty myself.

Went ahead and rented the first couple DVD's of Season 1... the wife and I are thoroughly hooked

Its a good show should give it a try. I admit though that not all the vampire stuff is good like twilight sucked balls. I liked Ann Rice Novels the early ones until it got a bit too mental lulz. But yea if your homophobic the homo-erotic crap between sire and fledgling will make you squirm.(Remember lending interview of a vampire the book to a male friend, didnt go down well) And yea even in that video theres overtones of it.

I just let that pass over my head and focus on the good points like kick ass story, immortality, powers and historical tidbits. I mean hurricane katrina is deeply tragic for me personally as new orleans was featured prominently in Ann Rice books and now I'll never see it as it was.

PS> Best recent vampire movie though was 30 days of night, It hit me like a sledgehammer when I was in the cinema....Fooking brutal.

I loved the first two seasons, but now I'm a little worried about season 3 because of the overflow of new cast members.I really hope that this show isn't jumping the shark this quickly.

I think that Eric should get his own spin-off.He's hands down the best character on the show, and I think he's worthy to carry a show on his own.

I love True Blood, I've watched every episode and loved it. Plus theirs lots of nudity which is always a good thing.

The show is back tonight at 9pm EST. Anyone else watching?
