Yes, I saw it. Cool movie, and although for me it started at 12:00 am, I stayed awake till the end at 2:30.

For those who have seen it what are your thoughts ?

Its getting bashed all over by the critics . I think its an awesome movie

its getting mostly bad reviews because the battle sequences don't look realostic enough, and that it drags in the beginning.

Gladiator got much better reviews than Troy did. Much more superior diector also.

I honestly could careless what critics say about movies. I normally love movies critics like, and hate movies that critics love. I never let some chump with a half ass job like watching moies and expressing your opinion of it tell me what movie I can and cannot see.

Bottom line I never said Troy wasn't a bad movie, because I have not seen it. The critics did not like Van Helsing, but I liked it very much, I thiought it was a great movie.

I thought Troy was mediocre. One of those movies where you might want to see it in the theater if you have nothing better to do, but waiting until it comes to DVD wouldn't be a bad choice either.

It's natural to compare it to Gladiator, so I'll say that I liked Gladiator much more than Troy. Maximus was such a great character to build a movie around, while Troy doesn't have any "protagonist" who's nearly as interesting. The closest it has is probably Achilles (Brad Pitt), but......let's just say, he ain't no Maximus! (Though I don't know whether to fault the performance or the script for that shortcoming.)

Hells yeah, Helen of Troy is a hottie in my books

:hatsoff:

And i think the special effects were pretty damm good, the battles were preety intense and the CGI crowds were amazing.

It wasnt WETA amazing but good enough :nanner:

What's WETA?? Yeah the chick who plays Helen the whore, is pretty hot. I would not kick her out of bed.

I'd rather see Kiera Knightly in King Arthur, damn she is hot!!

Weta is the special effects company that Peter Jackson created for The Lord of the rings Trilogy

No problem

:hatsoff:

I thought it was a very well-done movie and it was brilliantly cast. Tyler Mane (Sabretooth) as Ajax was sweet as hell.
