I have wondered about those two myself. The deciding factor - for me - is that you can pose next to a mirror without being in the mirror.

That said, colloquially there is little distinction between the two phrases. I have definitely overthought the issue.

FYI: She was an OCSM (hasn't been on in 11 years) and when I started doing this merge, I discovered that she had started a bunch of threads in the Favorites section with just pics of herself (a few with her twin and others?) and gave those threads stupid titles. I ended up merging those threads as well, 39 more threads, but a LOT of posts were deleted due to non-working pics.
