As for the search issue, I have 18 different internet browsers (listed below) on my computer, and I regularly update all of them. I did an experiment with the word "biz". I didn't test all of the browsers, but searching "biz" timed out in Firefox, Chrome and Waterfox. It worked okay in Edge, Opera, Palemoon, SeaMonkey and Vivaldi.
I've heard talk about Firefox and Chrome being in a war against each other to have the most sophisticated browser, and this "war" has routinely resulted in issues with the browsers being somewhat overly sophisticated, and with Waterfox being very similar to Firefox, that might explain why only those 3 failed (that part of the overall issues).
Obviously, the problem as a whole is not a browser issue, but it may be a small part.
Anyhow, I got on our chat site and left a message to all the admins, so hopefully they'll look into it and try to figure out what is going on.
