Some peoples sense of morals are totally out of wack, and the fact some people can't control the powers they are given and go off on a power trip. People like this should never be allowed into the police force.

First off, under no circumstances do you ever, EVER hit a person in a wheelchair, no matter if they're handicapped or not. NOT EVER!!! Second, if there was true justice in this country, that so called "officer" should have the same thing happen to him. Strap his ass down and beat the shit out of him. An eye for an eye. Third, this goes along with what George Carlin said about police having sensitivity training. If you need special training to be told not to beat up innocent people, maybe you're too fucked up to be on the police force anyway. There should be two new requirements to be on the police: intelligence and decency. You never can tell, it might just work, it certainly hasn't been tried yet.

Agreed, this abuse of power happens far to often for anyone to be truly shocked anymore. This is a despicable act and all of those involved should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Hiring people who's only criteria for applying is to shoot guns and have more powerful than anyone else isnt the way to go about creating a safer society. :dunno:
What if that person in a wheelchair pulled a knife on you and was trying to steal your wife's purse? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't give a fuck about the wheelchair at that point and I'd starting letting my fists do some talking. And, they'd be saying "BLADOOOW", "GADOOOSH" and "CHICKACHIKCOW".

Unfortunately, the main criteria that they use when hiring police officers is that they're assertive enough to do the job. In many cases, "assertiveness" translates into "aggressiveness" and they end up hiring assholes who were either bullies in school and are looking to continue forcing their will on others, or who were bullied in school and are using their authority to take out their frustration on others. Either way, it's a lose-lose situation for the people that they're supposed to "protect and serve".
