The weather here is fucking awesome!

Okay, mine did look a lot like that, but I thought all the water was supposed to totally disappear. There was always a splash or two left when I did it. Mind you, I was throwing it up with a cup. A super soaker may have made a difference.

Oh, and update: it's a balmy -8 C here today (that's 17 in pretend degrees). My kids are home from school AGAIN today, and they're sick of everything. Time for school to start again. :)

We are all going snow shoeing this afternoon again so we can get to a ski hill in the way back fields. I'ma force them to have fun, dang it!

The hard reality is we have to live with the weather we receive
And as part of a year we have four seasons usually
Sometimes we get just the Summer and the Winter.
We have to take the Summer heatwaves and the Winter Storms .
The weather has its own mind when it is done with us.
In circumstances like this where you have extreme weather events which are life threatening, people have to ask themselves
"Will I risk it ? " "Will I go outside? " And if they do go outside are they prepared for the conditions they will face?
At the end of the day, the person has to make up their own mind to take the risk but they also have to accept the consequences of making the wrong choice.
The best strategy is just let the storm go through and venture out when it is safe to do so.

The one and only.
It's snowing here. Again.

I took the niece and nephew sledding so they could get a break from their parents (and vice versa), helped two people push their cars onto the main road after they couldn't get out of the neighborhood, and shoveled my driveway for the 3,189 time.

I feel like that was a pretty productive day for not having to work again. We're on a 2 hour delay tomorrow though, so back to the grind...

I'm willing to bet the 2 hour delay is to allow for bus delays and it being hard to get the buses started. There was some talk of doing that here, but they don't delay in our district, and if they canceled again, I'm pretty sure most parents would drop their kids off at the school whether it was open or not.

We did our snow shoeing adventure, but didn't feel like sledding, so we kept going. It's gorgeous out there.

Aww... you look so cute all bundled up, but you look even better with it all off :)

Haha. Not sure I would have lasted long out there with nothing on though! :)

Get a sense of humor, and get the joke....and yes, I would imagine what you do is real work....but I certainly wouldn't put it in the top 10 most dangerous jobs in the world.

You'd be surprised.......just ask Nikki Nova.

Oh and my sense of humor is just fine thank you.

Yep yep, it's me!

finally starting to feel like a winter here... seems that cold area above america has moved and stopped pushing warm air over here... now I can go out laughing at people swearing as their court gets filled with more snow as they are doing snow work trying to clean another half...

And now it's raining. What the heck. So much for pretty snow.

No worries bro, next week it'l get cold again, and all of the water will refreeze into shimmering ice.

The park by me has a nice large area with a gentle slope perfect for sledding for the little kids. Lots of families would go there till they posted NO SLEDDING! signs. What the fuck is that? The sledding was nowhere near any traffic or parking. The Veterans home just across the way has many acres of rolling hills with various sloping. Kids were everywhere with tubes and boards and dads shooting their toddlers down those hills. It was nice seeing that VA home allowing people to go ahead and play in the snow.

There's a golf course near us that has a sign posted on one of its hills that says: "Sled here. This is the best spot on the whole golf course for sledding. Have fun!" I love it.

Ahh...sledding IMO is the best winter sport for family and friends if you can find a prime spot (as you have). Add a snowball fight into the mix and it will be perfect.

I was at a State Park today that has a refrigerated sled run, keeps it solid ice. There's a track, and they have specific sleds to use, so you're not going anywhere but down the track, safely (think of it almost like a bobsled track, but straight, no curves). It was awesome. They had a radar speed gun, and our sled made it to 39 miles per hour. That's dang fast on a sled, man!

Awesome.

By the way, here's the best way to keep your hands warm during the cold months.
