Professor, I know plenty of americans who say "bomb them all" (not just the terrorists, but all arabs, all palestinians, all iraqis, all muslims, whatever), there are some right here on freeones in our political threads, I agree there are FAR more peace loving or Palestinian-sympathetic americans than people think or give credit for, but at the same time, I think there are plenty of americans who have no regard for middle eastern lives whatsoever. There's pretty much everything in regards to people's political thoughts here in america, so it's inaccurate to say no americans think that way. Some do. Generalizations about americans rarely hold true. It's too diverse here.

OK....so what about the "plenty" of middle-easterners who have no regard for American lives whatsoever? There are extremist views in all societies. Why others tend to only dissect the American society this way just baffles me.

I'm not paying a pound (only have dollars anyway so....) to read that article but I think I get the gist of it. If the article offers something of value I am missing, please enlighten me.

all right. here is the truth. bush has a contract with the defense department. his lies make him and his family money. period.

Actually, being an engineer in the defense industry was much better under Clinton. R&D is a fairly open ended money pit, and that's when we engineers do well. Clinton spent far more on missile defense than W., because Clinton spent all of it on R&D, W. actually fielded units.

When you sell actual units, you are restricted to a 10% profit margin. And you don't need degreed engineers to build them, only technicians.

That's why far more defense companies supported Clinton than W. If you don't believe me, read up on Loral and their CEO.
