The chilling thing here...more than the troops and the hillbillies and the rhetoric...is HOW CLOSE THIS ELECTION WAS. If you add up every one of the MAGA terrorists it is still too large a number, but nowhere near enough to carry 47% of the vote. Almost half the voters...and those are the folks who cared and believed enough to register and then go vote...actually voted for this clown. I drove by a church where there was voting during the last election, on the evening of voting day. This was in a neighborhood that---to put it mildly---would be a Trump stronghold. There were people lined out and winding around the building and parking lot. Late voters in person are traditionally Conservative. You can talk about voting for the party. You can talk about voting against "socialism." You can say that Trump "isn't the best choice but better than Biden/Harris" all you want. BUT YOU VOTED FOR THIS GUY. And you folks did it for deeper reasons than just a dislike for Democratic principles. I listen to people at work. I read the words in the comments sections online. This inset feeling that polarizes this country bred a person like Trump. He is a masthead, not the ship.

I think it's been said quite a lot, both by people here in this forum and members of the media. A lot of people are very concerned that almost half of Americans couldn't come up with a reason not to vote trump a second time, and have pointed out that getting rid of trump isn't the end of this war, just the beginning.

So far, it's like a 125 who have been arrested and charged. I hope the U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, with whoever Joe Biden's AG appointee is, goes after all of these insurrectionists and loyalists to Trump and they get a nice ten-year or a twenty year conviction added onto their records. Though the prosecutors and defense attorneys will agree and the judges will most likely follow the D of J sentencing guidelines. Give them eighteen months to thirty-six months at a minimum in the Federal Prison System. Let them spend some quality time in the federal lockup in USP Lewisburg, PA, FCI Oxford, WI, FCI Phoenix,AZ or FCI Milan, MI.

Trump rightly touts his accomplishment of not getting America into a foreign war (despite his efforts with Iran). He conveniently ignores the war he started in the US. [Yes divisions were pronounced prior to Trump, but a full-fledged charge of the Capitol goes above and beyond.]

I guess if I ever figured out what The Donald's policies were i could say if I was against for for them. But since they changed hourly it is hard to do that. I guess since I was always taught that a Leader was supposed to be a positive moral force for good it is his personal lack of morals I just can't stand. And those like him, the weasels, the slime, the despicable, them too. I cannot overlook those lack of qualities to say that I like what he did, not who he is. I wonder if our breathern who are religious lovers of Trump could overlook Jesus if he was talked about in The Book as a drunken slob who stole, cheated, and raped his way across Palestine but hey, He cured the sick!
