Just because I love

Today's feature story on the ESPN NFL home page is a comparison between Tom Terrific and Peyton fuckin' Manning. The headline reads:

Peyton was voted superior in 11 of 15 categories. It's actually a pretty good read even if you're a Brady fan. They point out his head-to-head record against Peyton and highlight the fact that he has more rings. But in the end, Peyton is deemed to be the better QB.

Now that Manning has seemed to stop choking, I can't argue with any choice someone makes between the 2.

But in all the categories they compare...like "Who would make the best ..Coach.":confused::rolleyes::rolleyes: :1orglaugh

This is the only one that has mattered in terms of the practical difference between the two and why one has more rings than the other.:1orglaugh

When it really comes down to it, isn't vvvv this all that matters?
3. WHOM WOULD YOU WANT AT QUARTERBACK TO WIN ONE PLAYOFF GAME?
nfl_a_brady_b1_65.jpg

EDGE, BRADY (4-1): Tom Brady, no doubt about it. I love his energy. He's not this poised, under-control player at all times; he brings what is needed for the situation. Peyton, on the other hand, is the same methodical player. He's good, but if I want to win one playoff game, I want someone like Brady who can bring it. Brady is also extremely versatile and can adapt to change not just from game to game but from play to play. If you throw a different look at him, he's able to handle it within a couple of snaps. When I was with the Raiders, I played against him in his first big playoff game (2002 AFC divisional round), and, no matter what position I took as a cornerback, he'd throw the ball to the opposite side. He had confidence and could adapt to the way Charles Woodson and I were covering the New England receivers. -- Eric Allen

Personally, I think that this is the one that matters most:
6. WHOM WILL HISTORY REMEMBER AS THE BETTER QB?
1428.jpg

EDGE, MANNING (5-0): I say Peyton Manning because of the consecutive-games-played streak (now at 200), because of the insane passing statistics that he continues to compile and because he changed what a quarterback does at the line of scrimmage. Every time he walks to the line, almost anything could happen. He goes to the line with the ability to get into the right play, no matter what it is. Teams have changed the way they play defense against him by disguising their schemes as long as they can. The Colts' version of the no-huddle offense has also changed the game by taking teams out of their third-down pressure packages. It also is very different because even though they don't huddle, they often snap the ball right before the play clock expires, which creates problems for the defense as they try not to show their hand to Peyton too early. -- Tim Hasselbeck
And the panel was unanimous on this one.

Side note: Here's a poll between Peyton and Tom on completely arbitrary subjects. Must have been a slow day at ESPN. :dunno:

Go Colts! :)
Now we're cursed...

Yeah...about that one....we all know history and stats have made fools out of many people...

What's relevant is in their day...these 'experts' are saying they would without question want Brady when it matters most.

If Manning has been nothing else he's been a stat sheet stuffer and if the goal of a team was to have their QB have the best stats in history he would the hands down champ.:dunno:

Colts getting their asses waxed already by the new "Touchdown Jesus" Tom Brady!

Peyton needs a bigger helmet for that dome of his, he's always rocking the red blotch in the middle of that bulbous forehead of his! :1orglaugh

Both of these guys are making it look easy. They are trying to outdo each other for who can throw the more perfect pass.

Great pass and catch by Manning and Wayne.

I think the Brady/Manning article is mostly correct. As a Brady Lover I do have quibbles: I would rather have The Great American Hero to lead the 1 min drive (Brady does it in the SB, when it matters beeyatches :dunno:), the unanimous 5-0 vote for Manning for who will be remembered as the better QB (c'mon man, who the fuck is on this panel anyway :rolleyes) and Tom Brady is the better team leader--no fucking doubt. We see that this season! That's why Randy bailed...he knew the pecking order starts with the Hero...

Though I am a Brady Lover, there is no doubt that PH is a first ballot hall of famer, I would OBVIOUSLY TAKE HIM on my team, and I think PH is WAAAAAAAAAY better than Brett Favre. I hope Favre is the forgotten one..tbh.

As usual Brady stands there with all time he needs to throw to wide open receivers and people think he is so great. He is the most overrated QB ever, if he had to play for an average team, he wouldn't know what to do.

:wtf::wtf::wtf: Dude, listen to me very carefully, stop drinking right now.:2 cents:

I'm just not a bias Pats fan. I'm watching him stand there throwing 10-15 yard passes to wide open people.

You need to stop drinking the bong water. I hate Brady with every fiber of my being, but he's a damn good QB. And he was the better QB on this day. He hasn't made any mistakes and that's more than you can say for Peyton. As a result, his team is in position to win.

Yep. Purtyboy Brady got it wrapped up. Hmm...what's on HBO?

He's a very good QB but NOT as great as you all make him to be. His TEAM wins games to! They are playing a very banged up team and should win this game.

:1orglaugh:1orglaughYeah...you're just a bias, anti Brady fan.

If it was the case that his receivers were wide open..that would be one thing but he has made some great (a few ridiculous), pinpoint passes...(see his first one to Welker) today. So has Manning...

If you like great QB play score be damned...this is a clinic.

BTW, this is statistically the worst Pats defense ever.:2 cents:

I just love all the respect the Patriots are getting in this thread (not to mention every time the Brady vs Manning arguement comes up). It's not Brady that makes him a legend it's the Patriots legendary SuperBowl defence - coach - etcetera. :)

It has become very sad for me to read the responses of such vile against a legend in life like Tom Brady.
Why? because hes a winner in EVERY aspect of life? :1orglaugh
His latest conquest? Todays besmirching and deciamtion of Peyton Manning!
Stats are geeks who jerkoff with 2 hands. Who gives a monkeys ass in a tree how many records Manning has; means the same as how many Michael Jackson RECORDS he owns too! :1orglaugh
Once and for all class....Tom Brady (w/ his NUMEROUS Super Bowl victories!) > Peyton Manning!
STOP the hate-You must congratulate!!!!
I appreciate your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

Most are wide open, not to mention the protection he gets.
I like good QB's, just not making overrated Gods out of them.

I would say you need to watch the game (football) more. Brady and the Pats went 18 and 0 on their way to a SB with an overrate OL...

Brady was getting killed that whole season.

Okay, by that logic:

Terry Bradshaw > Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and Dan Marino.

 As usual, Alex is completely fucking wrong.
