>>>The Republican Party Is The Problem

So paying into Social Security during your lifetime is the same thing as being handed benefits just because you have the ability to breathe while contributing nothing also in the act of breaking the law while bringing other dependent mouths to feed, educate, and care for?
Kind of hard to completely argue the point when with the exception of those who die relatively young after retirement damn near everybody will get more than they put into it, even adjusting for inflation. (Then again maybe not forever as the US life expectancy is actually going down to show how sad things are getting.) So yeah all those people are handed benefits while no longer contributing just for the continued act of being able to breathe. Not that I'm complaining as I want to actually help people. I'm more pissed that their are billionaires and very profitable corporations that pay hardly any tax.

One would also have to somehow ignore that all that taxes that illegals pay while working they might not even get back in the same way as everybody else, because you know, they're illegal. So they contribute more than people think, while getting less back. I also think most people that bitch about them, would also be the same people that would bitch if they walked into a grocery store and a large selection of the food was significantly more expensive because immigrants stopped being exploited for their cheap labor.

Morality is subjective and people have different opinions on moral and immoral. Many people would consider each and every one of us as immoral based on where we are having this discussion right now. A bunch of sweaty perverts discussing politics so they don't seem like sweaty perverts.

One person's worthy investment is a waste to the other guy and they both may defend their positions fairly well. As far as politicians driven by their own personal morality, I might give someone like AOC a mention even if I disagree with her and see my own opposition stance as moral as well. I can respect someone's feistiness even if I want them to lose the fight.

Even the people I vote for that do what I want are still doing it because it's beneficial to them. Yours too.

Well, there's also the whole blatantly lying to them to do it, virtually kidnapping them under false pretenses, and trafficking them across the country when he has no federal authority to do so. Add on he's doing it for some political stunt where cruelty is the point, but as long as all that is somehow ignored, yeah what you say is sort of true.

Also, it's weird he went out of his own state to do it, and doesn't seem inclined to shuttle Cubans in his own state for some weird reason.
I can only comment on the very, very little I know about the situation, but I'm guessing the ploy is sway public opinion in the blue states by dumping these people there, and hoping that they either cause trouble, or become a strain on resources?

I'm hoping I'm wrong, because that seems like a horribly flawed plan. Off the top, you would need to many more people than you could fly out to make that sort of an impact. You would literally need to pack them like commuter trains in India and ship them across the country. The scheme just doesn't make any sense.

Exactly. After that long walk from Venezuela, the flight must have been a welcome change. I am glad Florida has the cash to do this. Flying them back to their home country would make more sense though.

This is looking pretty good right now. Hope common sense hasn't been outlawed.

What type of resources are illegal aliens a strain on?
Illegal/undocumented migrants can still qualify for some limited benefits.
A big one is free education for kids.
While they don't get the same treatment as legal residents, depending on the district there will be some social welfare.
There's also the standard community support like soup kitchens, etc.

Also, most places will also give benefits (along with work permits) for those who have filed for asylum and are waiting for their turn. The logic being that you want them doing something productive during that time, and during that time they will usually qualify for normal benefits.

Thank you, sir. Hospitals too.

If illegals were as profitable to the economy as some people have been convinced we'd be abducting them from Venezuela and tricking them into flying to the US, not having NIMBYs playing ping pong with them across America.

How many Russians should we be taking in? These are innocent people running away from a war for Christ sake! C'mon, just a few million. You won't even hear them laying around avoiding work. Nichevo. Don't worry. Your hearts bleeds for them too, doesn't it?

How about 1.32 million Russians? I was thinking DeSantis could bring them to Florida. They may need some help cleaning up soon.

Human trafficking is a bad look. Of course I'm a partisan hack and want to see all the Republicans locked up.
Now if the Republicans worked for Pornhub and Mindgeek ... you can have them all locked away nice and tight.

This is the hypocrisy of the Republican party. If other people are suffering, they don't give a fuck, but if something bad happens to them, the fake tears start flowing and they shamelessly plead for help.
If there was a mass shooting in a private school for rich kids in Texas, gun laws would be changed in less than a week.

DeSantis, Once a ‘No’ on Storm Aid, Petitions a President He’s Bashed
The Florida governor, who as a congressman opposed aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy, is seeking relief from the Biden administration as Hurricane Ian ravages his own state.
As a freshman congressman in 2013, Ron DeSantis was unambiguous: A federal bailout for the New York region after Hurricane Sandy was an irresponsible boondoggle, a symbol of the “put it on the credit card mentality” he had come to Washington to oppose.

The damn Dems won't even allow you to rub one out in the privacy of your own truck:
“We are locked in an ideological war with the Godless/ progressive/ left-wing/ Marxist/ Democratic Party. These people are working towards nothing less than a totalitarian government they control. Not only do they seek to control our country but our state.”

It's the economy! Or just the commercials we are seeing?
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/10/23/voters-trust-republicans-economy-midterms-poll-00063062

"70 percent of registered voters expressed interest in the upcoming election as a “9” or “10” on a 10-point scale, the poll said — the highest NBC has recorded in a midterm survey at this time of year."

"On both the economy and gas prices, 36 percent of Americans trust Republicans more than Democrats —12 and 14 points higher than the percentage of people who trust Democrats on those issues, respectively."

Shall we believe hype or reality?
Jobs: According to the BLS, the unemployment rate is at 3.5% (which is where it was before the pandemic).
Prices: Inflation is high, but it is high in the UK (13%), Germany (8.5%), France (6%), Sweden (11%), Canada (8%), etc. It's not unique to the US.
Gas prices: Which party voted against the price-gouging bill in May?

[It seems we are buying the hype.]

I thought employment was up around the world? Or at least in the US/Canada where business has been up ever since the economy opened up?
