>>>The Republican Party Is The Problem

What made me stop viewing the political posts here was the same reason I stopped watching cable news and political shows. I found that even after introducing facts (primary sources) people wouldn't re-examine their thinking and would rather believe a meme that confirmed their thinking, than actually learn and expand their understanding. I got angry at that. I found myself getting angry at people who I actually liked on here. There was no upside. So, I stopped.

I really think we all need to back away from the hate. Understand that people are humans. Forget the politicians when speaking about people, and try to understand what we are saying. Sometimes the other person will be wrong or just have a different opinion, but sometimes I also learn from what they know and think. Each outcome is good, if I allow myself to accept other opinions.

If you slam the Democrats or the Republicans, you are more than likely right. At least on some level. Since I voted for Biden, shouldn't I hold him MORE accountable? I gave him my vote and trust. That is where I start thinking.

Life isn't binary and if we only think in binary terms, it breeds hate.
Sorry to see you go then. You should have stayed around to help guide the conversation. After reviewing the recent posts you still find 'hate'? I disagree with @assari, Ace, Diablo Blanco, and Dino but I don't hate them. We all probably have more in common than we realize.

As for re-examining opinions, Mongo18 said it best about me (since I have re-examined my opinions over the past decade):
Guess you can take the dipshit out of the republican party, but you can't take the republican party out of the dipshit.

Confusing shows trying to attract viewers, like 'The View', with factual content is anyone's first mistake. Deriving opinions from Joy or Whoopi would be mistake #2. The same goes for Mark Levin. They try to be entertainers first and foremost. Any real content is accidental.

You are correct: thinking in binary terms does breed hate. Moving a little beyond that though ... What is the 'good outcome' for accepting someone's opinion which is based on a lie? A lie should be called a lie - not accepted as some version of the truth. Alternative facts are NOT facts. A black car is not a white car. A lie is not the truth. When you start accepting lies as truth, where does that lead you? You go storming the seat of government.

What primary sources were so persuasive we didn't 're-examine [our] thinking'?

Biden should be held accountable - and he will be held accountable in November 2024 (and November 2022 to a lesser degree). If you've changed your mind on Biden already, I'm with @Luxman and his disbelief. Biden is doing what he said he would do while campaigning.

I disagree with @assari, Ace, Diablo Blanco, and Dino but I don't hate them.

Your post is too bipartisan and sounds fake.
...
I'm having my doubts that you voted for Biden.
Did you also vote for Abraham Lincoln
I'm sorry to see someone living with that mindset to make these comments.
I hope for better days for you.

For the record I don't hate anybody. I try to have love for everybody that's ever lived, even the most evil people humanity has ever produced because that's what I feel I'm supposed to do. Some people make that a lot harder than others.

With that said, there are people I despise, (yes, even here on this site) and quite frankly, for good reason to be brutally about it. I hate stupidity, selfishness, greed, and reprehensible behavior and actions. That there are people out there that fit those descriptions or throw there support behind people that fit those (which in my view is just as bad) is hardly something that's my fault. Calling out those people, even harshly, is also something I'm not apologetic about.

...and even with that said still, even the humiliation or making other people look stupid isn't something I like doing. All my life I've tried to appeal to people's better natures, to find out they had none. I've tried to appeal to their logic and reason, to find out they don't use any, or worse adamantly and willingly ignored it. I've tried appealing to their humanity to find out they didn't care. I've tried appealing to their sense of duty to their communities to find out they couldn't be bothered. I've tried convincing people it's not alright to accept wrongdoing just because one gains a tactical/strategic advantage from it to be laughed at. I've tried appealing to their love of their fellow human to find they loved their own trinkets and baubles and their hatred for other people more than they loved their fellow humans.

The vitriol I spew and trying to humiliate people isn't a first resort. It's the last reasonable one I have. It's what I have left after all of the above. Past me tried to be nice, and found out the hard way that NICE DIDN'T WORK. I don't know maybe it's because I'm becoming old enough I can't be bothered with it anymore. I can feel the ticks of the clock on my life tick faster each year. Maybe after a lifetime of seeing despicable pieces of shit get ahead, justice almost never being done, and nothing ever getting better I'm at the end of my rope.

...and even with that still, what I do really isn't for the people I direct stuff like that at. I've written most of them off as irredeemable as much as it pains me to come to that conclusion. They themselves are a waste of breath. Or if they are it will take some power greater than me to pull it off. I can't fix stupid as much as I'd like to. Wasting so much of my life on futility has made me tired, not physically but mentally and even worse spiritually. It's hard to explain. No, my purpose is for everybody else here or other places I write, people that might still have a chance. If I can have them look at other people that I expose as stupid or reprehensible and I can reach them maybe they can be convinced to have themselves not come to be that. I focus on people that might still come to care.

Still I don't want to dislike anybody. I don't want to be harsh. I just want people to quit the stupid shit they do. If they could turn it around nothing would make me happier. That would please me more than bitching somebody out ever could. I also know for the overwhelming majority of people I dislike that will just never happen.

Give us your opinion of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Give us your opinion of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
He is going to blow our minds with it. We won’t even know what hit us.

Recall Mr. Moran likes to take some perceived high ground and then cast vague accusations against other members. He is doing now like he did last year.

I am very sure that it is very difficult for anyone to admit that they have voted for Joe Biden.

I believe that mikexmoran has voted for him and that decision he has certainly regretted!View attachment 885211
The last two presidential elections were tough. I try to weigh things out and I don't vote along party lines.
To me, I saw some positives in Trump and I've never liked Biden. So, yes, I regretted that.
The deciding factor for me, was that Trump had a huuuuuuge opportunity with Covid. He could have been a leader who unified and inspired. He didn't have it in him. While I don't think he drove January 6th, his ego and a bit of Peter Pan syndrome allowed that to happen. A better leader would have seen it and prevented it.
That justified my decision.
I do regret a Biden administration. It doesn't help a strong United States that will help the people long term. It was a pick in what I felt was the lesser of two evils.

One positive note I saw today was at the gym. I don't go as much as I should, but today I wore my mask going into the gym, but took it off when I was on the elliptical. Nobody in the gym was wearing a mask. Everyone seemed happier. Maybe it is because I could see their faces, but everyone seemed to be smiling and saying hello. Hopefully it is not too soon, but clearly a sense of relief and optimism.

I got my vaccines at SUNY at Old Westbury in NY. It was a huge operation. When I got my first shot, I thought "This is something incredibly good or evil" It just had the feel. Now I'm optimistic and see it as a sign of both administrations, both parties, and the world, working together to do the right thing.

Again, whatever is making you angry, I hope that things get better.

You literally knowingly quoted what's making me angry, and you are pretending you don't know.
In my previous posts I predicted the coup attempt before January 6th, so did millions of other liberals.
On January 7th, McCarthy, McConnel, Graham, and other top republicans all blamed Trump for directly inciting the Jan. 6th insurrection.
When they realized that the ignorant republican base still had blind faith in Trump, they flip-flopped and started to lie that Jan. 6 was only a bunch of tourists visiting the capitol.
Now people like you are knowingly parroting the lies like you usually do.
If Trump weasels his way into the White House in 2024, your's and every American's kids and grandkids will live in a miserable dictatorship, and it will become more and more corrupt, it will take decades or maybe centuries to recover from.
All the signs are there, only the truth can save America from Trump and a miserable future.
Stop lying before it's too late.

Sorry that you're angry, but I don't know you. I'm sure that we've interacted on here and I mean no insult, I don't really remember any of the interactions with you or your opinions.
I have no problems with your opinions. I don't agree with your view of the world from the posts from yesterday and today, but that is your life.
You haven't made and impression on me to care enough to be offended. I don't mean that as an insult, I just think you are down a bit of a rabbit hole with conspiracy.
I think people can be civil while they disagree. I have enjoyed some people's comments on here that I really don't agree with. You haven't been civil or candidly, thoughtful, enough for me to engage with.
You seem angry because I don't agree with you. I don't know what to tell you about that.
If you're looking for me to get angry because you're attacking or poking at me, that probably wont happen. Outside of feeling sorry for your outlook, I'm only mildly amused by your addiction to what you're posting. It really isn't that thoughtful or clever enough to get more than this.
I have no problem with you. Hopefully this helps the angst.

Sorry to see you go then. You should have stayed around to help guide the conversation.
I appreciate the thought that I should have stayed around to help guide the conversation. I'm when I'm here and I'll do my best when I participate.
After reviewing the recent posts you still find 'hate'? I disagree with @assari, Ace, Diablo Blanco, and Dino but I don't hate them. We all probably have more in common than we realize.
I think a couple of post above show some vitriol. I'm on the same page with you, even if I disagree, there i no hate.

Confusing shows trying to attract viewers, like 'The View', with factual content is anyone's first mistake. Deriving opinions from Joy or Whoopi would be mistake #2. The same goes for Mark Levin. They try to be entertainers first and foremost. Any real content is accidental.
Agreed and I don't. It is a sign of culture though, which is what I was commenting on.

What primary sources were so persuasive we didn't 're-examine [our] thinking'?
I remember an exchange where I was posting primary sources and met with some pretty hard accusations and the rebuttal with memes. It was a discussion on why the USPS was not showing a profit. I don't remember you being involved. I haven't gone back to re-read.

Alternative facts are NOT facts. A black car is not a white car. A lie is not the truth. When you start accepting lies as truth, where does that lead you? You go storming the seat of government.

Agreed. Unless you have other meaning, I think you're saying that I have presented a lie as the truth. I don't recall doing this, but I'm willing to re-examine my thoughts on that, if you have the primary source.

Biden should be held accountable - and he will be held accountable in November 2024 (and November 2022 to a lesser degree). If you've changed your mind on Biden already, I'm with @Luxman and his disbelief. Biden is doing what he said he would do while campaigning.
This is a pretty good exchange -
1. My opinion on Biden has never changed. I saw him as a better alternative than Trump. Not perfect or close to ideal. I saw the positive and negative in Trump and see the pluses and minuses in Biden as well.
2. Why do you have the opinion? From what I have seen it isn't that you've ever seen me present something that was dishonest, intellectually or otherwise.

I'm not all of one thing or another. Because I don't see Biden as a great leader and I see some value in Trump doesn't make be everything people condemn the Republicans in general for. Because I voted for Biden, doesn't make me subscribed to the full agenda.

My original post that you replied to was specific to me and general to the board because it was self-reflective. We're aligned in that.

That's the 2nd and 3rd times I give dislikes on this board.
You purposely distorted what I wrote to support your lies.
By your dishonest posts, I can only conclude that you're a Republican who wants a totalitarian republican government forever, with fake elections.
Hopefully, Trump or a republican Trump wannabe will never be in the White House again.
If all the voter suppression happening in republican states gives republicans a fraudulent election win in 2024, American democracy won't recover.
The warning signs are obvious, evil ahole Trump wants to be the dictator of America, and he/it doesn't give a rats ass about anyone who votes for him.

Sorry that you're angry, but I don't know you. I'm sure that we've interacted on here and I mean no insult, I don't really remember any of the interactions with you or your opinions.

I think you've said this enough times for it to seem patronising by now. You've made your point so stop it.

Otherwise I have no problem with this difference of opinions between you and @Luxman which I actually think has been comparatively civil compared to some of the stuff we've had in here.

ROFLMFAO @ your assessment

I'll stop saying it, but I still mean it. Without being patronizing.
I'll respect your site.

This post answers a question I asked you in another thread.

All vigilant people find that Biden belongs to the old political elite.

He should pursue the interests of ordinary Americans, but will he do so?

Answer:

He doesn't do it
