I would say that is a more apt description of progressives and "conservatives". Liberals are nearly polar opposites IMO. They are not self-righteous who think their way is the only but are more accepting of your right to believe you have your way and they have their way.

I don't have a problem with Liberals....just the people who give Liberals a bad name by misidentifying themselves or misidentifying others with it who are not.

I see progressives, liberals and conservatives as wholly different ideologies. I see progressivism and conservatism as more subjective ideologies an liberalism as a more fundamental ideology.

I don't believe either is superior or inferior and all well functioning society requires elements of all three.:2 cents:

That's an interesting interpretation of what the thread(s) is/are about.

I would argue - of course - that what gets defined as "liberal" in the USA is simply anything and everything to the left of the Republican Party, which of course, doesn't make something (policy, law, etc.) or someone liberal at all. Very few liberals even get close to approaching being "left-wing" (Dennis Kucinich does, but very few others do, even on half of the issues), however the Republican Party and its members are much closer to extreme right-wing, and in some cases really caters to the extreme right-wing.

I like liberals. They're cute and cuddly, and they really love the kids! I'm thinking of getting another liberal puppy--probably a golden or a chocolate lib. My neighbor Edna raises liberals. She's been doing it ever since her husband Yeller passed away. Of course, they're easier to clean up after than those conservatives...they're not Housebroken.
