Elwood has the proper take on what the Pathetic Mob is in my opinion. You had 2 guys joking about how pathetic they were (in the context of drooling over porn stars). The concept was extended to include bad jokes, puns, etc. They decided to form a mob and recruit others that could accept and laugh at their own ineptitude. Those looking for some fun came on board and decided to play the game. Those who object to the mob don't get the inside joke at all. If you are pathetic, accept it, can laugh at it then you really aren't pathetic at all are you. You are only pathetic if you cannot have fun and laugh at life.
