Would anyone care to explain to me why the fuck Delhomme wasn't benched after the third, fourth, or even the fifth interception? I understand that a coach has to have confidence in his quarterback, but there has to be a point where you realize that he is useless and would do better by sitting out for a little bit. :2 cents:

I assume because a) no other Panther QB had taken a snap all year (a ridiculous situation for a 12-4 team to be in).

and b) for some reason, no. 17 seems to be a semi-god on that team. Of all qualifying QB's, Delhomme's rating is 18th this year. Okay, but nothing special.

I've never seen such horrific, bumbling performances from two pretty good teams in my 40+ years of watching sports. This time it wasn't just Collins, but he got a lot of help from his teammates in handing that one over. The injury to Chris Johnson was the only excusable thing in this debacle. I'd hate to feel what Jeff Fisher is feeling this morning. And like that wasn't enough...what did I say? If Delhomme fucks up the Cards have a shot. Who-wee did he ever fuck up. I'm not a Cardinal fan by any means and it looks like Warner and his receiving duo are peaking at the right time. Good for them. But eventually you gotta pay the piper. I hesitate to do this, but...

Today's Games

Philadelphia at New York--I like the Eagles and they're red hot. I know both of the lower seeds won yesterday, and wouldn't it be nice if the underdogs won today. That rarely continues. Philly won here the last time they played thanks in part to a great performance from McNabb and Westbrook's rushing. This is another time and a rested NY team. Besides...do you think Coughlin watched those games yesterday? Watch the battle in the trenches in this one.
San Diego at Pittsburgh--If LT doesn't play, The Chargers will not win. It is Tomlinson who gives Phil Rivers his space. Turner may start Sproles, who looked pretty decent last week. But this is Pittsburgh. In Pittsburgh. Rushing the ball against them is not allowed. So it'll be up to Rivers, who likes Jackson and Gates. Off field problems by Jackson could hamper that performance. The Steelers have the Roeth concussion problem to worry about. He will start and he's getting healthy, but the Bolts know they can jar him. Plus Pitt has a lousy rushing game. They better find one soon. Down the pipe the victors of this game know they face a bruised and battered Ravens team with a rookie QB. Who wants it more?

He's coming off a year that was far above expectations, he barely lost the game (and if the refs hadn't given Baltimore an extra 2 seconds to get that 3'rd down play off on the winning drive; he might have won), he's probably one of the top 3 most secure coaches in the NFL and he's rich.

If he's in good health, I'd LOVE to feel what Jeff Fisher is feeling this morning.

:D

warner getting alot of money...i told u guys...cardinals played with a fire last week and now this week...why are the ravens and cards in their championship game? CAUSE alot of turnovers and commit none...just had a feeling the cardinals are playing with passion on d...and again holding williams to limited yardage...that's two weeks in a roll holding a top rb to less than 100 rushing...but the panthers were down the whole game, that might be a factor in coming back...but their passing d is not that bad...they got some guys who can cover...jake del with 5 picks and fumble...not good...time for a new qb? he's had some awful games...the game against oakland 4 picks, less than 100 passing, they won, due to raiders cant move the ball, williams running all day...that comes to my mind...cardinals vs giants in the championship game for the nfc...but the eagles arent that bad either...today's game's should be good ones again...btw, i got the steelers and giants to win...eagles winning isnt really a upset, cuz we all know their that good

Well, LBP makes a good point. But nothing hits you harder than almost getting there. And the Titans have themselves to blame. They moved the ball into Raven territory then lost it. Three times by my count. I said what I said based on the looks on Fisher's face. I've never been a coach, but I sure have been on sports teams in that situation. Almost winning.

But has that situation included a multi million dollar paycheck?

I'm not raggin' on you,I just think that people should have a little perspective, and yes,I also agree with LBP's assessments as well. The fact remains that win or lose,Jeff Fisher probably won't be crying in his bowl of Corn Flakes today. He's considered one of the better coaches in the league,so if by some off chance he loses his job(which would probably be the shocker of the decade) he won't have any problem finding another job.

And if you think that he feels bad,how bad do you think that Marty Schottenheimer felt all those years of almost making it?Or what about Marv Levy?Until Fisher gets to that level of futility in championship games,I think you can feel ok leaving him in a room with sharp objects.

Alright! Battle of the birds next week!

It looks like it will be an ALL PA Super Bowl...Pitt v Philly. I think the Arizona Sandbagging Miracle ride ends next week and Pittsburgh looks like they are capable of laying a smackdown even on the Ravens.

Is the NFC Conf Champ really in Arizona? How lame is that?? Has a team ever not deserved to host that game like this year's Cards??
