So do I. Especially the arms part, the dubious part, and as for the entire cities being burned down, maybe I'm watching the wrong news channels.
Well then, don't cry to us to save your asses if Arabia nukes you off the map, or invades your country in the foreseable future for natural resources and foodstuffs, etc., when the global population is in the tens of billions (which is probably possible), if they don't just take over your fucking cities and making Islam law, when they outbread you as your immigration allows.
Here's something on Sweden for you (I have ancestors there, BTW): http://church-of-yehovah.org/swedenmus.html
Oh, come on, Scott, are you taking the piss? A bit of humour, please. Try a bit of solidarity instead of slagging people off. I gave an opinion that was relevant to the thread and wasn't intending to be well-received by everyone - it's an opinion, that's all. It wasn't an invitation to slag off a continent that includes many of America's personal friends and political allies.
Hopefully that won't cause too much offence.
Fair enough, but the next time you critique us, look at yourselves first.
Good day.
the best part of obama's fuck ups are not that everyone fucks up (as president or otherwise) but that when W's fuck ups were pointed out one was anti-american (naughty) but when obama's fucks ups are pointed out it's cuz he's destroying the country and the talker is saving us the US...do as i say not as i do...lovely
Obama blows!
Hasnt done shit except increase debt and lie about pulling troops out of Iraq even though I still think we need to keep some there to keep them from attacking us.
oh yeah bush was criticized and the critical people were told that they were un-american...now obama is criticized because he is 'un-american' do you see the distinction? and it's not like i voted for obama or gore or kerry either, i vote for third parties cuz i like to 'throw my vote away' (i'm told) for someone i actually believe in not one of our useless two primary parties (it's a two party system which is very democratic)
You know what? Even if you don't care, a lot of us in Europe really like Obama. When I hear some Americans' negative comments about him I often think that they are revealing themselves to be quite insular and un-worldly. Okay, he keeps fucking up with that shitty auto-cue thing, but the speeches are still good - they might not fit in at all with how a lot of US citizens think their country should be, but in World terms he is so much better than any American president for a long time. Next time an American slags him off, they might want to consider how he's fairing on the world stage - pretty cool, really. America might be a big powerful country with great wealth and geographical advantages that set it apart from everyone else, but listen: the world is a smaller place now; your neighbours and enemies are much closer than you think. In case anyone hadn't noticed, the world is at war, and in my opinion I reckon you've now got a man in power who doesn't like that fact. He should be appreciated more.
This is why I don't discuss politics with Americans.
No disrespect but I care less what Europe/world thinks of our presidents. History lesson we did not started World War I and World War II, but we sure ended them and we sure did built up Europe with a bail out! So remember that my friend.
Untrue and you know that. Bush fucked up big time, he should have not get re elected in 2004! Kerry would have not been that radical like Obama is right now, don't you get it? Obama has a grudge agaisnt this country he put's the U.S. down and apoligizes to the world that we are sooo bad!
It just shows you how far we've come.
Wow. Here's the problem "don", the previous administration came into office with the attitude that we're the boss of the world and as such we can do whatever we want. Screw you (you're either with us or you're against us). By the end or their 8 years they apparently realized it wasn't just that simple as our president was running around begging for troops and money to help fix his mismanagement. What make us look more pathetic??
That? Or being responsible and mature enough to acknowledge our past mistakes and reconcile with those we share a common ground with to solve problems of mutual interests?
The first step of any reconciliation is to acknowledge your wrong. If you can't do that how do you hope to get it right?
The world is just going to get worse, not better. It always has, and always will. Unfortunately.
So... really? The world hasn't gotten better? Like the development of society, medicine, law. From apes killing with tooth and paw to Mother Teresa nothing's improved, or ever will? I'm not sure what the point of a political conversation would be if one side carries such a fatalist attitude.
Just pecismism. I just call a spade a spade. Don't tell me the world is a hunky-dory place right now.
Much improved as of the election, but no it's not all better yet.
And wow, calling a spade a spade in this thread? :uohs: :scream:
which president hasnt screwed up or made a mistake its still early for obama and has one heck of a mess to clean up just give him time
I, ummm...don't think things are going to get better, sorry. Sorry to disapoint you. When countries are going bankrupt (Iceland), economies are collapsing (America, and a lot of other places), people are blowing themselves up (Iraq, and Afghanistan), my county is being invaded, the ocean is losing its fish populations, and foodstuffs are not going to meet population demands in the future, I'm sorry but it's not too great a place. I'm ready for when the SHTF, but for that, I guess I'm just a loon, huh.
Mitt Romney in 4 years. He should've gotten the GOP nomination over McCain anyways. He's the one who should be in office to deal with the economic issues.
