The fight against ISIS

How honest is Barack Obama being here?

Obama insists: No U.S. ground combat troops in Iraq

"I will not commit you, and the rest of our armed forces, to fighting another ground war in Iraq," Obama told troops at the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Fla.

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

I stand by my previous assessment, that the only way to defeat ISIS and the rest of the bad guys is to commit to total war in that region, not whatever this bullshit is that we've been doing for the last ten years, but to mobilize with air strikes, armor, and boots on the ground, a good old fashioned World War II style occupation of the region, but that's not going to happen, I said fuck Bush because of it and I'll damn Obama the same way.

Unfortunately, I think that's case. The Kurds have been effective at fighting back ISIS but they are defending future Kurdistan. Are they going to go on fighting into Syria? And it's clear the surrounding arab countries want no part of this coalition. Wow, the Saudis will let us train "moderate" syrian rebels on their land? Gee, thanks. And what's been pointed out by others in this thread, many of ISIS' fighters were "moderate" syrian rebels. And now, there's apparently an Al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria of veteran fighters from Afghanistan and Pakistan who are determined to snag the headlines from ISIS by recruiting western islamic extremists to attack targets in the U.S. and Europe according to DIA Director James Clapper. They're called the "Korashan Group" and you'll be hearing that name alot. Total War it'll have to be, but the American public doesn't have the stomach for it, not until a nuke goes off in a U.S. city.

In other ISIS news, in Australia, counter-terrorism authorities foiled a plot by a group with direct connections to ISIS to kidnap random Australian citizens off the street then behead them on camera.

Total war worked so well in Afghanistan Iraq that, from the ashes of Al-Qaeda, ISIS rose. I wonder what will rise from the ashes of ISIS...

Ace Dicksucker said:
I loather hearing Dear Leader and Frankenkerry speak on this matter and their insistence upon using "ISIL" instead of "ISIS." The "L" in "ISIL" stands for Levant, which is the area running from Turkey to Jordan and includes Israel. In hearing these douche nozzles proclaim an acronym only they and members of the lapdog media use further lends credence to the belief that Dear Leader and his Politburo have chosen the side of Hamas.
Actually ISIL is the nam they go by, so your Dear Leader is right, their name is ISIL, not ISIS. ISIS is the name the american medias gave them 'cause very few american know what is "Levant" but Syria and Iraq are known b mosty people to be enemies of the US.
But I guess your 2 neurons brain can't process this is of subtleties...

ISIS didn't rise from the ashes of Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is still alive and well unfortunately. Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, the guy who beheaded Nick Berg on video, and who the U.S. killed courtesy of terminal guidance, founded this group. It was known at the time as Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) after he swore allegience to Bin Laden. Then after they went into Syria they changed their name to ISIS or ISIL and now they're just calling themselves Islamic State.

They need to be called unidentifiable remains.

Still ISIS the problem? Wait until you will have a declared muslim running for prominent political seats. You don't have to wait for long for that to happen. They are fighting and winning the war from within our countries, not in Iraq and middle east. Keep being blind and get ready to change your diet very soon. Or be ready to fight a war where it counts: your own country.

ISIS and their ilk are a cancer, plain and simple. There is only one way to stop a cancer: it must be removed. In this case, it means killing off those subhumans who espouse a perverted and twisted interpretation of Islam. Will others come along? Sure...and once the intelligence-gatherers confirm their intent, they're killed off immediately, too. Rinse, lather, and repeat as necessary.

Of course, I don't see our present administration taking steps, positive or otherwise, to deal with this blight. Obama tossed his give-a-fuck out the window a long time ago. Sabrina is right; we might be fighting the next round at home.

ISIS Urges Followers To Attack U.S., French Citizens

BAGHDAD, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Islamic State urged its followers on Monday to attack citizens of the United States, France and other countries which have joined a coalition to destroy the militant group.

Islamic State spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani also taunted U.S. President Barack Obama and other Western "crusaders" in a statement carried by the SITE monitoring website, saying their forces faced inevitable defeat at the militants' hands.

The United States is building an international coalition to combat the radical Sunni Muslim group, which has seized swathes of territory in Iraq and Syria and proclaimed a caliphate in the heart of the Middle East.

Adnani said the intervention by the U.S.-led coalition would be the "final campaign of the crusaders," according to SITE's English-language transcript of an audio recording in Arabic.

"It will be broken and defeated, just as all your previous campaigns were broken and defeated," Adnani said in the statement, which urged followers to attack U.S., French, Canadian, Australian and other nationals.

U.S. and French warplanes have struck Islamic State targets in Iraq and on Sunday the United States said other countries had indicated a willingness to join it if it goes ahead with air strikes against the group in Syria too.

Washington has also committed $500 million to arm and train Syrian rebels and has sent 1,600 U.S. troops back into Iraq to fight the group..

In his statement, Adnani mocked Western leaders over their deepening military engagement in the region and said Obama was repeating the mistakes of his predecessor, George W. Bush.

"If you fight it (Islamic State), it becomes stronger and tougher. If you leave it alone, it grows and expands. If Obama has promised you with defeating the Islamic State, then Bush has also lied before him," Adnani said, according to the transcript.

"DRAGGED TO DESTRUCTION"

Addressing Obama directly, Adnani added: "O mule of the Jews, you claimed today that America would not be drawn into a war on the ground. No, it will be drawn and dragged ... to its death, grave and destruction."

Obama, who has spent much of his tenure extracting the United States from Iraq after its costly 2003 invasion and occupation, is sensitive to charges that he is being drawn into another long campaign that risks U.S. soldiers' lives.

While Obama has ruled out a combat mission, military officials say the reality of a protracted campaign in Iraq and possibly Syria may ultimately require greater use of U.S. troops, including tactical air strike spotters or front-line advisers embedded with Iraqi forces.

In his statement, Adnani criticized Kurdish fighters who are battling the Islamic State militants in both Syria and Iraq.

"We do not fight Kurds because they are Kurds. Rather we fight the disbelievers amongst them, the allies of the crusaders and Jews in their war against the Muslims," Adnani said, adding that there were many Muslim Kurds within the ranks of the Islamic State army.

On Monday, Syrian Kurdish fighters halted an advance by Islamic State to the east of a predominantly Kurdish town near the border with Turkey, a spokesman for the main Kurdish group said.

Adnani also condemned Saudi Arabia, whose senior Muslim clergy have denounced Islamic State and whose ruling royal family has joined other Arab states in a pledge to tackle militant ideology as part of a strategy to counter the group.

Adnani slammed Western inaction over the conflict in Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad's forces have been embroiled in a three-year-old civil war with mainly Sunni Muslim fighters. He said the West had "looked the other way" when barrel bombs were dropped and chemical weapons were used against Muslim civilians.

"So know that - by Allah - we fear not the swarms of planes, nor ballistic missiles, nor drones, nor satellites, nor battleships, nor weapons of mass destruction," he said.

Islamist Group Kidnaps Frenchman in Algeria

An al-Qaida splinter group has kidnapped a French citizen and announced on Monday that it will execute him unless France ends its participation in air strikes against the Islamic State group in Iraq.

In a video that appeared on social media, a masked member of a group calling itself Jund al-Khilafah, or Soldiers of the Caliphate, warned French President Francois Hollande that it would execute the hostage if France doesn't end its military actions against the Islamic State group.

The French Foreign Ministry confirmed the kidnapping of a French citizen in Algeria, but did not identify him or his kidnappers.

French forces joined the U.S. on Sept. 19 in carrying out airstrikes against forces from the Islamic State group which have overrun large swathes of Syria and Iraq.

The Frenchman appeared in the video flanked by two armed masked men and said he was taken hostage by the group on Sunday and reiterated its demands that French airstrikes end.

The Jund al-Khilafah group broke away from the al-Qaida's North African branch in recent weeks and has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, which has emerged as a brutal rival to al-Qaida.

An Algerian security official in the mountainous city of Tizi Ouzou, in the region where the kidnapping happened, said the 55-year-old man was a mountain guide from the French city of Nice and was hiking with two friends when he was abducted Sunday.

The three had spent the night at a ski lodge near the town of Tikdjda, 110 kilometers (65 miles) from the capital, Algiers.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak to the media. The area is now being combed by army and elements of the local guard.

On Sunday, the spokesman for the Islamic State group, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, urged followers to kill Europeans and Americans, and "especially the spiteful and filthy French." The group has beheaded two American journalists and a British aid worker.

Responding to the statement at the time, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said he was confident of the country's security.

"This threat to kill civilians, added to the execution of hostages and to the massacres, is yet another demonstration of the barbarism of these terrorists, justifying our fight without truce or pause," Cazeneuve said Monday. "France is not afraid because it is prepared to respond to their threats."

Algeria has been battling Islamist militants since the 1990s and in recent years has confined them to a few mountainous regions in the north of the country and in the Sahara desert in the extreme south.

Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb made millions of dollars over the last decade kidnapping Western tourists in the Sahara Desert.

Thanks Mr President Hollande for getting us into some serious shit by joining this war

Breaking News - US has begun airstrikes in Syria.

2 front assault with the 1st strikes in Iraq.

But still going need a united Sunni and Shiite Iraqi Army to drive to the west and south ISIS towards the Syrian border.

After, we need make the Iraqi government equal to both Muslim sects to stop the Sunni disgruntled led ISIS.

W fuck it up with Bremer announcing the de-bathication in 03.

Fox’s Judge Jeanine: ISIS is ‘Single Biggest Threat’ in American History

I’ll admit that I’ve used some hyperbole when discussing Fox News, but that’s just the nature of writing. But I’m serious when I say that the segment I just watched from Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro is probably the most outrageous thing I’ve ever seen from the network.

And, yes, that includes Eric Bolling’s recent segment where he essentially said it’s time for our government, and Americans in general, to start profiling all Muslims.

But this rant by Pirro is possibly the most over-the-top, fear mongering pile of garbage I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, I think everyone should watch every second of it. Not because it’s filled with content people need to know about, but because you can’t grasp the absurdity of it without actually seeing it for yourself.

Before discussing the part which proved how ridiculous this woman is, let me summarize the entire thing for you:

ISIS is the worst thing humanity has ever seen.
The government can’t protect you.
The Obama administration is incompetent.
Start buying your end of the world supplies now.
Be afraid, be very afraid.

That’s generally it. And no, I’m not exaggerating. In fact, I’m probably underselling it a bit.

But the one line that really proved just how outlandish this was came at the very beginning when Pirro had the nerve to say that, in ISIS, the United States is facing the “single biggest threat in her more than 200-year history.”

Yes, she’s telling all of us that ISIS poses a bigger threat to the United States than:

Nazi Germany (which took over most of Europe)
The Empire of Japan (which bombed Pearl Harbor)
The Soviet Union during the Cold War (which parked nuclear weapons 90 miles off our coast)

And she specifically pointed out that ISIS is a bigger threat than what we faced during WWI, WWII, Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

I’m sorry, but if you honestly believe that, for lack of a better word, you’re an absolute idiot.

Look, I fully believe that ISIS is a threat. I’ve even said that I believe using ground forces isn’t a matter of if, but when. This is an extremely dangerous group that is unlike any other terrorist organization we’ve ever seen.

But for anyone to sit there and claim that with ISIS the United States is witnessing its biggest threat ever - even bigger than Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union or the Empire of Japan during WWII – is so outrageous it’s actually laughable.

Nazi Germany damn near took over an entire continent. We’re not talking about a slightly organized group of Islamic radicals commandeering military equipment they’ve seized in Iraq and Syria. Oh, no. Nazi German was an empire built on racism and genocide. An empire that clearly had its sights set on global domination.

To put it into perspective, though estimates vary, World War II itself is credited with anywhere between 50 and 80 million deaths. For a war that lasted just 6 years and 1 day that averages out to between 23k-36k deaths per day, every single day - for six straight years. Just let that sink in for a moment. Could you imagine that kind of death toll being reported on nowadays?

The fact that Pirro was actually a judge terrifies me, because this woman is clearly unhinged. Well, that’s even if she believes the nonsense she spews. While she dismissed the notion that her over-the-top ISIS rhetoric was meant to make for “good television,” one can’t help but wonder if these comments are nothing more than her pandering to the viewers that she knows tune in to her show.

What a joke !

ISIS -30.000 men in the desert between Iraq and Syria- are the single most dangerous threat in American History ? More dangerous than nazi germany ? More dangerous than soviet russia ? More dangerous than the 60.000 english soldiers actually in the US in 1812 ?!
This can't be serious !

Only thing they can do inside the US is kill innocent people pop shot.

No air force or navy.

I give the Viet Kong (Charlie) more credence over these jihad ass hats.

Fox News! The main mouth piece on why we had to go and get the WMDs out of Iraq! Look where we are still today with none found.

Death threats for Saudi pilots after raids on Jihadists
Yahoo News1 hour ago

Riyadh (AFP) - Saudi pilots who conducted air strikes on jihadists in Syria received online death threats Wednesday after photos were published of those involved, among them a son of the crown prince.

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) released photographs of eight airmen it said were involved in Tuesday's US-led operation, carried out with Gulf allies.

In one picture they stood, some smiling, in green flight suits with arms around each other in front of one of their fighter jets.

One of the pilots involved in the raids is a son of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz himself, according to Saudi newspapers.

Dozens of Islamic State group (IS) and Al-Qaeda militants were reported killed in the coalition air raids, sparking jihadist threats online where the Saudi pilots' photos reappeared.

One Twitter user said the air force men were "wanted by IS" while another said their throats "will sooner or later be slit".

A broader threat came from a Twitter post which called for the killing of police as well as military men.

Some Internet users, however, defended the Saudi airmen.

"The Saudi pilots returned safe and sound Tuesday morning after having accomplished their duty in carrying out successful and effective strikes against the Islamic State extremist organisation in Syria," SPA said overnight.

The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan also confirmed their participation. Washington said Qatar was also involved.

"My sons, the pilots, fulfilled their obligation toward their religion, their homeland and their king," SPA quoted Crown Prince Salman as saying.

He was "proud of the professionalism and bravery" of the Saudi air force men, SPA said.

Their combat mission happened to coincide with the kingdom's 84th national day.

Saudi Arabia is dominated by the ultra-conservative Sunni doctrine of Wahabism.

The kingdom's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh last month said Al-Qaeda and the IS group "have nothing to do with Islam and (their proponents) are the enemy number one of Islam".

The country is seeking to deter youths from becoming jihadists but fighters from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Morocco make up the majority of about 12,000 foreign extremists who have travelled to Syria and Iraq, according to the London-based International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation.

The IS group has declared a "caliphate" straddling Iraq and Syria. Its fighters control swathes of territory where they have committed widespread atrocities including beheadings and crucifixions.

UAE’s first female fighter pilot likely dropping bombs on ISIS militants in Syria

Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri, 35, joined the United Arab Emirates' air force once the military branch accepted women. She graduated the academy in 2008 and now pilots an F-16 Block 60 fighter jet, likely among those taking part in the air strikes against Islamic State terrorists in Syria.

Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri is believed to be the first woman from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to become an Emirates Air Force pilot.

She’s raining bombs on terrorist thugs.

The first female pilot in the United Arab Emirates' air force is reportedly taking part in the coalition air strikes against ISIS militants hiding in Syria.

Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri, 35, is a squadron commander piloting an F-16 Block 60 fighter jet likely among those dropping munitions this week in coordinated attacks against Islamic State strongholds near Raqqa, Aleppo and Idlib.
