Yes, I am French and live not far from Paris. However a big part of my family lives in the USA in NY and Texas. Hope this answers your question.

Some people that are not Americans support Trump because they understand that America’s leadership makes the world safer. They embrace American exceptionalism and don’t resent it.

I will explain you that I am a Gaullist first and I do believe in Gaullism , explained here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaullism I have never liked left wing parties and anything linked to socialists or communists and never will. Gaullism has been extinct since 18 years at best if not before and back then in the 80's I was a very strong and fervent supporter of Reagan. I embrace conservative ideas linked to success, patriotism and determination which is why I respect Trump. Mitterandism, Hollandism and Macronism are all left wing political trends that affected and still affect France negatively. For me there is no in between, one is either a conservative or a socialist.

When you are for the respect of the customs and habits of your country, against wide open frontiers combined with massive uncontroled immigration and against abusive reforms of the Brussels dictatorship, then you are a protectionnist.

So you are liberal supporting failed ideas of socialism???? Just asking.Obama was a community organizer before all and perhaps the most divisive president that the USA ever had. Socialism has failed in Scandinavian and Nordic countries.

I'm indifferent to who is President of the USA.

I try not to pigeon hole myself so i wouldn't describe myself as 1 thing or another. Those labels are divisive.

If you're insulted by my suggestion that you seem to lean to the right I'm sorry but I was basing that on what I've seen you post in the P&R section the occasional time I'm in it.
