Banned?
For me, Anthrax was never close to the rest. Not sure why they made it into a "top 4"... Should have been 3.

And even then, Metallica wins by a fucking mile.

Since 'And Justice For All...' is one of my all time favorite albums (and I think the best metal album EVER) and 'Nothing else matters' one of my favorite songs I will go with Metallica. They suck donkey smegma now though, but their four album stretch was the greatest.

wow they all suck (unless you still are using Aqua Net hairspray)

Right. Just like Elvis is no longer relevant. Or the Beatles. Or Led Zep. Or The Doors. Or The Stones. Or ...

:troll:

I believe they still are. Thousands of people still go to their concerts, so it's not like they are irrelevant. It's not because you don't like metal or hard rock that you should take conclusions like that.

How many people go to concerts of actual bands?

I recently went to the concert of the Big 4 in France (Sonisphere Festival - http://fr.sonispherefestivals.com/) and there were 120.000 people there. I had a great time.

Sounds like a righteous show, makes me want to get my deniem jacket with all the patches of said bands ironed on it.

I'll bet you had to use your fingers to count how many years it has been since 1991. Am I right? Probably had to count out loud...Fucked up a couple of times and had to start over...Considered using a calculator but didn't because that would mean walking a few feet to get one. So you dumped some Chee-tos onto the table to use as a visual - which is fun because you can eat them after you finish counting them...Never mind. I'm probably right. :bang:

I'm glad someone else thinks that 'And Justice For All..." is an excellent album. I myself prefer it to 'Master Of Puppets," if you want to know the truth.

What was wrong with their last album, though?

1991 was when Metallica became relevant to the mainstream...not when they ceased to be relevant.

Metallica's biggest Hot 100 hit was in 1996, which was "Until It Sleeps." That was also their first #1 rock hit. As better as their '80s material may be, it didn't impact the mainstream the way that their later releases did.

Death Magnetic wasn't a throw away. There were some redeeming qualities about it. Of course it doesn't match up to their first four but it was the best since the Black album.

Realistically, Metallica is in a league of their own. They cover so much ground in their discography. Anybody who says otherwise is just a "metal" fan who can't appreciate anything else. Metallica are incredible songwriters. They did angry thrash, then went into their melodic metal, straight into mainstream pop metal, hit us with some country/twang/metal, symphony metal, some awesome covers, one down period where they tried to be nu metal, and then hit us with another solid pop metal cd.

Not to take anything away from the other guys, I love them all, (except Mustaines voice) and Slayer is the best live band ever, but WTF did they do? Release the same cd for 20 years?

...zackley.

The big 4 is now, Metallica and the other guys who suck their dick to get a coheadlining tour with them.

Btw, why isn't Iron Maiden part of this group. They shit on Megadeth and Anthrax.
