The 80s music thread

really ? they we're kind of rambunctious, anarchistic, huh :dunno:
Yep ! you're correct it did :o
I remember them . . . . sorta hazy (wht. punk on dope myself * way back) :1orglaugh

Listen to one of the other songs on the album and their rather subversive anti- capitalist tone will be more clear.

The Tubes 'What Do You Want From Life'

Like I said remember it well "75" was year I graduated high school.Lots of time spent riding around listening to an 8 track player with the debut tubes album playing ,being white punks on dope lol.

80s music is great! I feel sad that I missed out because I was born in 1989! Although fashion in the 80s was horrible, so i'm glad I at least missed that :1orglaugh

80s pop music has like a unique sound to it, and if you hear an 80s pop song even if you've never heard it before you know its from the 80s. I love that!

I think the 80s is also the only decade where rock music actually sounds good. But thats just my opinion :D

My first were:

Madonna - Like a virgin (cassette)
The Firm - Startrekkin' (7")
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms (cassette)
Erik B and Rakim - Paid in Full (7")
Bon Jovi - Slippery when wet (cassette)
Whitesnake - 1987 (vinyl)

After that I got into thrash and it's been downhill from there really. Still love most 80s pop and rock though!

The Firm - Startrekkin' (7")

Never heard of that one.

There's quite a few "The Firm" Vids on You T.

Surprising actually.

Whoops !! It's the Wrong "The Firm"

I was thinking .. . . Jimmy Pages band

Another great song from my youth that i found at youtube (ok,it was released in 1978 (=> 30 years ago, unbelievable progressive electronic music for this time!) but became popular in the european New Wave scene in the mid 80`s).They are from San Francisco so maybe some of you US guys from the west coast remember them:
Tuxedomoon - No Tears
